Politico: Estonia’s EPF actions were ‘completely legal’
3/29/23
A report Tuesday which stated that Estonia had been upgrading its own defenses at the expense of other European Union Member States does not mean that Estonia has acted in any way other than “completely legally”, Politico, which published the initial article making the claims, said Wednesday. ...
Much of the equipment in question, such as 105mm howitzers sent to Ukraine last year, is dated, but the reimbursement has been calculated on the basis of new replacement equipment, rather than the much lower figures that the current market value of the older weaponry would entail.
At the same time, Estonia is only one of half-a-dozen EU Member States, including Finland and Lithuania, who have done the same, Politico itself states.
In its “Brussels Playbook” section [link at URL] Politico notes that what Estonia has done, namely replacing older military equipment supplied to Ukraine with newer equipment, funded by the EPF, is “completely legal. ...”

So, as was said, NATO sends scrap arms To Ukraine while upgrading Its own arsenal with EU funds.
Estonia, a NATO member (and at least a half dozen other members) are allegedly exploiting the European Peace Facility (EPF) funds to renew their own weapons while sending old stocks to Kyiv, according to the Politico report.
Politico is obviously pro-Putin.
Pedo Z doesn’t care. He probably doesn’t even open the crates to look. He just sells the stuff for the $$.
Estonia claimed they destroyed those guns
The Duran knows their EU kleptocrats...
nothing wrong with
rotating the stock
Ukraine is a European problem not an American one. Europe can do whatever it wants and they can deal however with countries in the EU.
They even launder their old weapons now
My surprised face - 😏
Seems like a pretty smart scam.
However, Does no one else find it a bit ironic that “European Peace Facility” is actually a weapons funding scheme?
sounds reasonable, I dont think anyone is sending the latest cutting edge tech. You send what you can in situations like this and a slightly out of date weapon is better than nothing
That was what was supposed to happen.
The program is operating as intended.
Good way to eliminate old weapons and upgrade to new ones.
Sounds like a plan to me.
Kinda smart
There is nothing new about this, that was among the benefits of Ukraine’s success in fighting off the Russians to the point they started receiving large support, we ship them our old weapons and replace the old stock with new.
I have been posting on that for most of the last year, and it has been written about frequently in the media.
We not only get fresh and modernized weapons in our warehouses we also got rid of close-to-end-of-life weapons that we were going to have to pay high prices to dispose of.
Not only do we get rid of end-of-life weapons and old stock, but they are also being used against the very enemy they were built to be used against and destroying their stuff.
If Russia finds this unacceptable, then Russia can leave Ukraine.
It’s only appropriate.
Ask her how too say 12 months , in Estonian
And if they’d have just junked their old weapons; would the outcry be nearly the same?
Waaaah!
You could have given those to Ukraine!
