An explosive report has blown the lid off a NATO nation's 'sham' support for Ukraine. Estonia, a NATO member, is allegedly using European Peace Facility (EPF) funds to renew its own weapons while sending old stocks to Kyiv, according to a Politico report. The European Peace Facility (EPF) fund is intended to partially reimburse countries that have sent military aid to Ukraine but is now reportedly being exploited. According to seven EU diplomats quoted in the report, Estonia is sending its scraps to Ukraine and buying brand new material for itself, financed with EU money. The report, however, is set to cheer Russia, which stands vindicated on its claims that NATO and the EU are using Ukraine as a tool for their own benefit.

Politico: Estonia’s EPF actions were ‘completely legal’
3/29/23
A report Tuesday which stated that Estonia had been upgrading its own defenses at the expense of other European Union Member States does not mean that Estonia has acted in any way other than “completely legally”, Politico, which published the initial article making the claims, said Wednesday. ...
Much of the equipment in question, such as 105mm howitzers sent to Ukraine last year, is dated, but the reimbursement has been calculated on the basis of new replacement equipment, rather than the much lower figures that the current market value of the older weaponry would entail.
At the same time, Estonia is only one of half-a-dozen EU Member States, including Finland and Lithuania, who have done the same, Politico itself states.
In its “Brussels Playbook” section [link at URL] Politico notes that what Estonia has done, namely replacing older military equipment supplied to Ukraine with newer equipment, funded by the EPF, is “completely legal. ...”

So, as was said, NATO sends scrap arms To Ukraine while upgrading Its own arsenal with EU funds.
Estonia, a NATO member (and at least a half dozen other members) are allegedly exploiting the European Peace Facility (EPF) funds to renew their own weapons while sending old stocks to Kyiv, according to the Politico report.
Politico is obviously pro-Putin.
Pedo Z doesn’t care. He probably doesn’t even open the crates to look. He just sells the stuff for the $$.
Estonia claimed they destroyed those guns
The Duran knows their EU kleptocrats...
So is NATO war profiteering?
nothing wrong with
rotating the stock
Ukraine is a European problem not an American one. Europe can do whatever it wants and they can deal however with countries in the EU.
Ah, just never convicted of war profiteering.
I guess we can file it next to the file concerning NATO never, ever, going on the offensive and attacking a country that hadn’t attacked a NATO member...
Yep, and if/when Europe develops a unified European military the US won’t need to be in NATO anymore.
Cash for clunkers NATO style. It should jumpstart Ukraine’s economy. Ask Pelousi.
“Politico is obviously pro-Putin.”
Yep, sounds like Politico has now been outed as a Putin Puppet...and it was by some top-notch investigative reporting by, well, Politico.
At this point, Politico should sue them for falsely implying that they’re a just a Putin Puppet.
calculated on the basis of new replacement equipment, rather than the much lower figures that the current market value of the older weaponry would entail.
how else do you replace it???
seen the price of used cars lately?
“Estonia claimed they destroyed those guns”
Seems like a reasonable claim, considering where they were going.
I suspected this from the start. These are great times for defense contractors. All the MiG-29s and other aging aircraft being sent will be replaced with shiny new F-16s and similar, and new munitions will eventually replace all the old war stocks being sent.
Egad, I am getting more cynical as the days go by.
They even launder their old weapons now
My surprised face - 😏
Seems like a pretty smart scam.
However, Does no one else find it a bit ironic that “European Peace Facility” is actually a weapons funding scheme?
