Russian President Vladimir Putin may visit Turkey next month for the inauguration of the Russian-built Akkuyu nuclear power plant, Anadolu Agency reports, quoting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Putin may attend the April 27 event online or in person, Erdogan says. If he does travel to Turkey, it would mark a rare trip abroad for the Russian leader since the start of the Ukraine war.

Less than 2 weeks before Putin's upcoming May 9th "Victory Parade" in Red Square.
Turkey is not a signatory to the ICC. (Just in case you were wondering.) Frankly, if I was Turkey, I would not want Putin to visit because they do not want any of the many nations and groups who want Putin dead to make him so while in Turkey.
From General SVR yesterday:
In the near future, Putin plans to visit Turkey. Active preparations for the visit are underway.
A meeting with Erdogan for Putin should solve several issues at once.
The main topic should be Erdogan’s persuasion to influence Zelensky to move to negotiations “on adequate terms” and the prologue to the negotiations should be the freezing of the conflict.
The Russian president will be quite satisfied with any “Minsk-3” or “Istanbul-1”, if only a truce was recorded and Russian troops were given the opportunity to “recover” and fill the gaps in forces and means for further hostilities.
There are still a number of secondary issues that Putin is ready to discuss and offer solutions to Erdogan, such as pressure on Armenia and the removal of tensions on the border of Azerbaijan with Iran, but Putin needs to “freeze” the front in Ukraine in the first place and for this he is ready to risk and leave Russia under Erdogan’s guarantees after the issuance of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court.
Having not received the long-awaited military and political assistance from China, the last bet of hope for Putin is Turkey, there are simply no other mediators of such a level that the Russian president could trust.
Despite the assurances of the military leadership about the ability of Russian troops to hold the occupied territories, Putin prefers not to bring to the test of strength both the ability of Russian troops to hold positions during the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the promise of the military leadership, which, in the opinion of the president himself, is “worthless”.

Who cares about the ICC. Who was the last person taken into custody on the strength of their authority?
How does a guy suffering from multiple forms of cancer have the energy to travel to Turkey and previously host a state visit from the Xi Jinping, while simultaneously overseeing a war.
“Putin may visit Turkey next month, Erdogan says”
Gotta hand it to the Neocons, they sure know how to TOTALLY SCREW UP EVERYTHING - in this case their policy to ‘isolate’ Putin has him being greeted as a Rock Star in Africa, becoming buddies with China (likely to the point of buying weapons from them), and now meeting with OUR NATO ALLIES...all that’s left for us is jetting John Kerry to Europe to tell them, for the 500th time, that the world is burning up and they need to live in caves.
Great job, Neocons.
People held by request of the ICC.

Is he going to be arrested?
That would be amusing.
Erdogan wants a castrated Russian Black Sea fleet.
Ukraine is under pressure to end the conflict on favorable terms before the US has its next election. There are plenty of other pressures, I’m sure. But freezing the lines where they are and stopping all pressure on Russia will ultimately cause Ukraine to lose. Right now, they have the relative advantage. But Russia has developed a militarized version of China’s social credit system. The purpose of this system is to pick out people who will not be missed and to pick them up and throw them into the army. (It’s a modern-day system for Shanghaiing.)

Erdogan: Return of Crimea to Ukraine a requirement under international law
Türkiye supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity and rejects the illegal annexation of Crimea, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said.
“The return of Crimea to Ukraine, of which it is an inseparable part, is essentially a requirement of international law,” Erdogan said in a video message to the Second Crimea Platform Summit on Tuesday.
Turkey was also participating in NATO ISR flights off the coast of Romania this morning watching Sevastopol and the Russian “Navy” in the Black Sea.
Then why didn’t Turkey join the ‘sanctions’?
Erdogan is playing both sides until Putin croaks.
Both nations have something in common.
Turkey illegally occupies Northern Cyprus, as Russia illegally occupies parts of Ukraine.
Turkey will fill the void created by a weakened Russia.
Then it’s say “Hello” to Ottoman Empire 2.0!
“Erdogan is playing both sides until Putin croaks.”
...or maybe Erdogan WAS playing both sides, but now he understands how this war will end.
Turkey’s grip on Black Sea access hinders Russia after Moskva sinking
“Turkey’s grip on Black Sea access hinders Russia after Moskva sinking”
Hinders the Neocons far more.
