You cannot do enough good works, have enough children, baptize enough dead people, or wear enough layers of magic underwear to get to heaven. And that magic underwear will not protect you from the fires of Hell.
The only way to get to Heaven and avoid the fires of Hell, is to trust on the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, and who is God, who died for your sins and mine, that we may avoid hell and be reconciled to God the Father.
John 14:6 “6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. “

Don’t bother reading the Bible.
That could be called a hell of a way to go through life and I suggest even you recognize my point. To contend the Gospel of Jesus Christ can be lumped into a couple of sentences at the exclusion of everything Jesus preached at his first coming, could be called spiritual blindness.
The entire Christian kingdom as we know it today is fraught with confusion that is manifest in the Reformation. Christians are unable to stand in agreement on virtually any point of doctrine. Catholics and Protestants are as far apart in beliefs as can be other than their general acceptance of Jesus Christ as savior and redeemer.
God is not a God of confusion. Until that general confusion is resolved, the so called Christian Church does not have a leg to stand on.
