Let the states make their own laws. Let the federal government do what it was allowed to do by the Constitution: issue currency, regulate interstate commerce, and provide for the common defense.

It would be a real shame if during one of these Gestapo ATF raids, a significant number of agents got boo boos.

These government goon squad vermin need dealt with. Where the hell was the county Sheriff?

It’s getting worse. They’re getting bolder. Kristallnacht is coming.

They probably forgot a period on a Form 4473 and the thugs are using it as an excuse to shut them down so they can confiscate all the 4473s and use the information to add to their illegal gun registration database.

“General Robert E. Lee was, in my estimation, one of the supremely gifted men produced by our Nation. He believed unswervingly in the Constitutional validity of his cause which until 1865 was still an arguable question in America; he was a poised and inspiring leader, true to the high trust reposed in him by millions of his fellow citizens; he was thoughtful yet demanding of his officers and men, forbearing with captured enemies but ingenious, unrelenting and personally courageous in battle, and never disheartened by a reverse or obstacle. Through all his many trials, he remained selfless almost to a fault and unfailing in his faith in God. Taken altogether, he was noble as a leader and as a man, and unsullied as I read the pages of our history.

From deep conviction, I simply say this: a nation of men of Lee’s calibre would be unconquerable in spirit and soul. Indeed, to the degree that present-day American youth will strive to emulate his rare qualities, including his devotion to this land as revealed in his painstaking efforts to help heal the Nation’s wounds once the bitter struggle was over, we, in our own time of danger in a divided world, will be strengthened and our love of freedom sustained.

Such are the reasons that I proudly display the picture of this great American on my office wall.

Sincerely,

Dwight D. Eisenhower “

I don't give a damn what Ike had to say, doesn't make either one of them a saint.

He took up arms against the duly elected government he took an oath to defend and together with Democrat Jefferson Davis plunged this nation into it's costliest war ever.

If Lee had an ounce of brains and a grain of decency he would have realized after Gettysburg the war was lost but he and Davis continued the slaughter for another two years and what did he lead to? More death and destruction and the ruination of the South.

Union government ain’t doin too great now either. What do you have against people just wanting to be free from an oppressive government? Plenty of talk and wishful thinking about it to this very day!

Don't pull that ‘’repressive government’’ shit with Reb, ok?

I've been down this road with you Democrats, that's right Democrats since the Confederacy was created by them. This was about preserving an economic system based on the use of slave labor. So much for calling that ''independence''.

Well hypothetically if a new secession movement gathered steam, you wouldn’t be able to cite preservation of slavery as the motive would you.

By the way, elimination of slavery was not the primary motivation of the North...it was preservation of the powers of the central (Union) government. Similarly, preservation of slavery was not the prime motivator of the South.

The real truth comes at close to the end when we find out this is the first day of a new form.

There it is, they are there to find some slight mistake on a new form and shut this place down. I would not be surprised if they plant some screwed up form either.

Much like the visit to Matt Taibbi’s home by the IRS agents. Even if they find nothing wrong, it is a warning.

The hell it wasn’t the Souths primary motivation. Read their constitution.

US Constitution...3/5ths clause? Dred Scott decision? Fugitive Slave Act? Missouri Compromise? Etc

Confederate constitution would allow or not allow slavery at states’ discretion.
