Wow, how did you manage that?
Mel Gibson played Hal Moore. I wonder if there’ll be problems with that.
Name them after powerful Democrats that spent their lives trying to make America better ... Oh wait. there are six ... forget it.
It looks like the Black Confederates finally turned up, only about 160 years too late ...
I hear you.
But as a native Southerner, with Confederate ancestors, my own attitude at this point is, given the state of the United States military nowadays -- i.e., the recent sick woke mentality of those who now lead it, and the foul empire-building motivations which lay behind almost every escapade with which the American military has been associated since the middle of the 20th Century, tragic (and, typically, poorly conducted) operations which have resulted in the sacrifice of the lives of young men for the benefit of a privileged few among the money-worshipping globalist elites -- I should think that, at this point, these Confederate Generals would not wish to be associated with it any longer.
That is to say, there's no honor in it. Only some measure of mortification.
Just my two cents.
In this instance the career of General Cavazos, decorated for heroism in combat in two wars, seems worthy of this sort of honor.
I don’t know that he’d approve of replacing General Hood’s name with his name, or any name, for the reason we are now doing so. I’d wager that he’d be strongly against it.
Probably no coincidence that Ukraine does the same thing.
Just wait till they want states, rivers, valleys, etc renamed.
surely there will be a new base or weapon type we could name in his honor.
When will we see Fort Zelensky?
How about Fort Poofter?
Fort Fag, Fort Trans, Fort Lesbo and Fort Latinx are just around the corner.
In line behind Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara and Pol Pot.
None of whom was active in our Civil War.
Full disclosure: I was born, raised and currently live in the North. However, I was brainwashed by my father’s side of the family that had well over a dozen men fight for the South. That same side of the family had ancestors that fought in every war prior to the civil war going back to the French and Indian War. They took a hiatus after the CW and until WWI. They have only missed minor skirmishes like Grenada and Panama since. My mother’s side of the family immigrated late but served when drafted beginning with WWI. They are from Minnesota and are not the volunteering type.
Just wait until the pendulum swings and we start renaming streets and areas that were named for the plagiarist, misogynist, and serial communist adulterer Martin Luther King, Jr. That will make things better, won’t it?
Our leaders criticize China yet stage their own Cultural Revolution?
Mao Tze Joe.
There’s plans to rename the Pentagon after him. Seems rather appropriate considering the people inside the Pentagon.
PS: It was always Fort Hood, Texas to me and it will always be Fort Hood, Texas. I hope the state of Texas keeps all the signs on their highways saying Fort Hood!! Slam it up their Boros leftist @$$e$!!!
As long as they name all those streets after a single person, perhaps St. George Floyd. I use anything identified as MLK as no-go zones. We don’t need any confusion about that.
