DeSantis is not ready because he’s not nimble enough on his feet and relies too heavily on standard Bushite rhetoric....because he was willing to backtrack on his initial (correct) position that Ukraine is not vital to American national interests and pivot to the neocons by saying Putin is a “war criminal”.
He was too willing to go along with the Maidan coup and support defunding social security while in Congress. Right after he pointed out that the NY DA is clearly waging a very selective political prosecution of Trump he then turned around and said he had bigger fish to fry running Florida. The problem is the corruption of the legal system is as big of an issue as their is. He badly miscalculated in saying that and in being late to condemn it in the first place.
There’s a reason he’s been dropping in the polls.

How does saying Putin is a war criminal contradict his statement that Ukraine is not vital to American interests? One thing’s got nothing to do with the other. If Ukraine is not vital to American interests then Putin must be okay?
He did not support “defunding” Social Security, whatever that means.
He was not late in criticizing the DA. The DA hasn’t even indicted Trump yet and may not even end up doing it. Everybody began talking about it because Trump announced he was about to be indicted - which was apparently not the case.

Many here should go look at the Fox news clips where DeSantis, Gowdy and Chavetz (?) talked about Clinton on Hannity. I remember at the time that Gowdy was the most aggressive and I felt that DeSantis was trying to fit in. The irony is that we now know Howdy was putting on a performance and was still more aggressive than Ron. Let that sink in. I think they were talking about the emails or Benghazi, can’t remember which kabuki theater it was. Soooooo many fake media and politicians.
Trump's ego will make him run for the presidency on a third party ticket. If that's the case, DeSantis might as well as steer clear until 2028. He should get on a phone call with Jared Kursher and Ivanka Trump and see what they say. They're retired from politics and they're tired of Don's antics.
