A U.S. judge delivered a speech at a university on March 24, a few weeks after students and a top staffer prevented him from doing so at Stanford University.
U.S. District Judge Kyle Duncan, a Trump appointee, told listeners at the University of Notre Dame that there’s a “vital tradition of free speech in this country” and that students have the right to protest him.
“It’s a great country, where you can harshly criticize federal judges and nothing bad will happen to you. You might even get praised or promoted,” he said. “But make no mistake. What went on in that classroom on March the ninth had nothing to do with our proud American tradition of free speech. It was rather a parody of it.”

It’s also good to see that the judge wasn’t intimidated or dissuaded from giving more speeches at college campuses. Kudos to Judge Duncan.
Steve Hayward of PowerLine, who lectures at Stanford’s neighbor Cal Berkeley, noted with dripping irony at the time that Berkeley had welcomed numerous conservative speakers without even a hint of such disruption.
You guys are right on both counts. Did you see the damn brats at Stanford are upset that their identities have been revealed? They are claiming their right to privacy is violated, even there is no such right in the Constitution. But they sure violated the 1A right to free speech. The whole idea of shouting down, insulting and threatening speakers with whom you disagree is reprehensible and a serious threat to the Republic.

good for him, but he’s operating under the false notion that any minds can be changed by honest debate and open discussion. These leftists want us all dead. They don’t care about any intellectual debates. They want their revolution.
He is giving all of us an opportunity to learn what 1st Amdt is and isn’t, and to begin practicing for the battle in our own personal lives and relationships. There comes a time when you can no longer afford to be polite, as an ambassador would.
