Lawmakers in New York are gearing up to enact legislation that would prohibit gas stoves from being used in new buildings, including new single-family homes and new commercial properties. Should the proposal — included in the state budget that's due March 31 — receive a nod from Empire State lawmakers, it would be the first piece of legislation in the nation to target gas and fossil fuel appliances.

New Stalingrad could work.
I think they want to limit the sources of energy we have available to use for living.
Make everything electric, then they just have to control that.
My theory is they want to eliminate all energy but electric for the people. Once everyone is entirely dependent on that they can start to shape society by controlling electricity availability.
Cheap and abundant energy is freedom and prosperity.
I don’t doubt that some of them want to control all energy - they have pretty much admitted it. However, the way our utilities are structured within the US it would be very difficult because its so broken up.
I’m old enough to remember when the MSM said that the banning of gas stoves was a Republican conspiracy theory.
Back in Jan. 2023.
This is what a collapsing state beholden to Satanism looks like.
These people are really crazy, aren’t they......
Global warming buried almost the entire state of Nevada in snow this year the whole season long north to south, east to west
Selling monopolies to the highest bidder.
So your behavior depends on their generosity. If you don’t behave and are found to be troublesome they will remove your digitized money from your account, shut off your electricity,........ no heat, no stove to cook food
More than the limited number of heat levels (which is annoying), the real problem with electric stoves (even the fancy induction models) is the *time lag*. It takes a long time for a burner to get up to temperature, and it takes it even longer to cool off. If you're making a fussy sauce, or sauteing something that needs to be turned down to simmer, an electric stove will really mess you up. Plus of course you're wasting electricity.
I have a big six-burner gas stove that's borderline commercial (largest available residential model) and I love it. We were making jam one Sunday afternoon, and four people were cooking on the stove and didn't get in each other's way.
I cooked on an electric stove for 40 plus years. When we moved and were setting up our new home and putting in new appliances I insisted on a good gas stove. So much easier to cook on.
Full blown NUTZ!
“Ultimately you get the government you deserve. Sucks to be you, New York…”
You don’t think they steal elections there also?
Yeah, that’s true. I figure they would go after the input - like coal. I would be toasted out where I live.
Lawmakers came up with that idea all on their own and didn’t get any money from the feds huh Moe.
