Front-line Ukrainian soldiers in the Donbas region say it seems like Russia has "unlimited" artillery shells to throw at them — while they remain worried about running out by the end of the year.
A new BBC video follows troops in the area, operating older Soviet-era tanks and firing at Russian enemies just 500 meters away. As the soldiers run to safety in trenches, they tell BBC it feels like Russia has been firing nonstop in the area.
"They have an unlimited amount of shells. They have entire warehouses full of them," one soldier, identified as Dima, said. "They could shoot all day, and they'll never run out of shells."

Ha...Putin is overwhelmed
This war is over except for the announcement of reality
Possibly
No I didn’t invent the quote
I also read the Ukraine losses in Bakhmut area is comparable to our losses in France and Belgium in WWI
Daily casualties
That will be their refrain when this is over
“Took too long”
This also was the strategy of the Germans during the Battle of Verdun. I don’t know a lot about the various battles of WWI, but this one sticks in my mind. The French would supply new waves of Frenchmen into the town, only to be repeatedly obliterated by German artillery.
Russia is far better positioned personnel wise than Ukraine is
70-90% of this war has been fought infantry wise by Wagner DPR and LPR etc militias
The Russian regular army infantry has had minor involvement
Partly due to being an arty war mostly
Russia is getting toasted and are concentrating here do get a PR victory. Problem is, it hasn’t happened yet.
...to Russia with Love...cause ya can’t make war...anymore.
Artillery wears out quickly and needs frequent maintenance and barrel replacements, worn barrels reduce accuracy, limiting the effectiveness of each volley.
“Russian military bloggers are posting images of dozens of damaged combat vehicles with exploded gun barrels. They also are passing on Russian troops’ complaints that soldiers have problems with the survivability of artillery and tank guns.
Artillery barrels and tank main guns have a limited lifespan—they start becoming markedly less effective after firing a certain number of rounds and need to be replaced.
According to the Russian independent news outlet The Insider, Russian tank barrels have a service life from 210 rounds of armor-piercing sub-caliber rounds to 840 rounds of high explosive and shaped charge rounds. At the same time, rifled artillery barrels, depending on caliber, projectile type and range, have a life of up to 2,000-3,000 rounds.
Ukrainian officials said Russian forces is emphasizes the massed firepower doctrine and is firing more than 50,000 shells per day.

Sowell is my favorite. If it were up to me a study of his writings and thoughts would be required learning in high school and in college.
If I were forced to pick the wisest American alive today he would get my vote.
