The Russians believed that they would be welcomed, at least by the Russian-speaking Ukrainians. Instead, Russia has united Ukraine, both Ukrainian-speakers and Russian-speakers.

In like manner, Russia is alienating its current outlying regions, drafting their boys and sending them into the meatgrinder war in Ukraine, while not sending the boys of the Moscow region or the Saint Petersburg region.

At present, there are quite a few drone made videos of Russian troops using small stolen garden tractors to haul carts containing food and ammunition. The vehicles, small vans, that are supposed to do the logistical deliveries are all gone. The vehicles called Scooby's have all been shot up and destroyed.

Russian logistics just aren't. Russia can't march on the actual battlefield much less to Kiev
