Trump Campaign: DeSantis Staff Need Not Apply
Real Clear Politics ^ | March 24, 023 | Phil Wegmann

As Ron DeSantis emerges as a prospective rival for the Republican nomination, Donald’s Trump campaign has put word out that anyone who works for the Florida governor will be blackballed.

According to sources with direct knowledge of the edict, Justin Caporale, who helps lead the advance team for the former president, has said that anyone who staffed a recent DeSantis book tour will be considered “persona non grata.” A top Trump ally was more comprehensive, telling RealClearPolitics that the prohibition would apply to more than just the junior aides tasked with setting up folding chairs and hanging banners.

“It’s a time for choosing,” the source close to the former president said. “If you work for Ron DeSantis’ presidential race, you will not work for the Trump campaign or in the Trump White House.”

Except maybe as spies. Trump learned that the hard way.

Don’t kid yourself. After Trump dispatches DeSantis, DeSantis’s consultants, who have no loyalty to any agenda, will be clamoring for a spot in a Trump White House. We saw that with many, who were against Trump in the 2016 primaries, lobbying for jobs after Trump won. And Trump hired a number of them. If anyone’s looking for evidence that things will be different this time, here’s a good start.

I don’t think they could be a lot worse than most of the people he did hire.

Maybe but Trump had a hard time finding competent people who wanted to work for him in his first term. I suspect it will be more difficult now.

DeSantis staffers don’t meet Trump’s exacting standards unlike the conservative true loyalists he handpicked like Cohen, Omarosa, Milley, Kavanaugh, Pence, Oz, Ivanka etc.

Being able to suck a golf ball through a garden hose shouldn’t a necessary skill.

That’s how we got Oz.

A lot of people complaining about Trump’s past hires are missing the point here. This move is a good indication that he will be doing things differently this time.

I could have been accused of being a pure Always Trumper but, like the dots of black and one of white (the zhu) in the Yin-Yang to show not a total one or the other, I have one complaint which is Trump chose people who betrayed him and made fools of themselves in public to detract from his mission.

Smart move.

Respectfully, my good FRiend, I do not agree.

Instead of warring with GOPers, Trump should consider focusing on Dems, the real opponents and with countless critical issues.

The GOP nom is guaranteed to nobody. I want many qualified contenders, I want them to write, make speeches, and ultimately face each other in debate forums.

We voters will select our nominee for POTUS. If Trump wants to be the nom, he needs to compete for our vote, not to undermine other candidates.

That’s a rational assessment. It’s hard to imagine how pure an Always Trumper one would have to be to deny that many of them truly stank.

True. But since Reagan I never had someone who probably filled by unconscious and illogical need for a substitute for the father forced to leave me at age 8 so my mother could have full custody and devote herself to being a mean drunk and a narcissistic man hater. My father was not in my life even for visits until he died decades later.

Trump was never perfect to the world but doesn’t have to be. I love him anyway.

Trump has a history of being a well known nightmare employer aka a classic old petty malignant Narcissist.
He is famous for being a toxic , mean , cheap ,
incompetent , and hateful boss . A typical seedy NY Developer . His WH staff was a revolving door .
Why would anyone want to get connected to Loss Number Six in a row.
