Seventy-eight percent of Americans doubt their children will be better off in President Joe Biden’s America, according to a WSJ-NORC poll released Friday.
Seventy-eight percent represents the highest share of Americans who are pessimistic since the survey began asking the question in the 1990s.
According to the pollster, the doubt about Biden’s America is a result of a couple of factors, including the interchange between education and the employment market: One reason Americans worry the next generation will fall behind is that they are losing faith in the power of a college education to move them up the economic ladder. Some 56% of respondents said that a four-year college degree wasn’t worth the cost because people often graduate without specific job skills and with heavy debt. Meanwhile, 42% of respondents said it was worth it because people have a better chance to get a good job and earn more. That marked a reversal from the last time the question was asked in 2017, when a narrow plurality viewed college as worth the investment.
The poll also found only 12 percent of respondents described themselves as “very happy.” That number represents the lowest share on record since the poll began asking the question in 1972. Moreover, three in ten described themselves as “not too happy,” again the highest share on record. One driver of happiness is financial certainty and economic freedom. According to the poll, Americans are unhappy with their financial position:
A plurality of respondents, 44%, said their finances are in worse condition than they expected for this stage in life, and more than a third said they are not at all satisfied with how they are getting along financially. Fewer than 3 in 10 agreed that people like them and their family have a good chance of improving

Stunning numbers here. How do we become an optimistic country again? 78% (highest ever) say their kids will be worse off. 56% college not worth it… https://t.co/kHk46CFKie— Martha MacCallum (@marthamaccallum) March 24, 2023

Dear Martha and Fox,
Text Trump to 88022.
Trump’s fault.
And yet they keep wining elections. Things that make you go Huummm.
The same 78 percent will continue to vote Democrat.
Biden is just another in a long line of communists that really got started destroying the US when woodrow wilson was elected. I expect the communists stole that election as well.
Does that mean that 22% think that their kids will be better off or the same or have no opinion? That is scary.
The Scott Adams rule of polling is that 25% of people polled will ALWAYS get the wrong answer...and it seems to always be true.
Rat world
Heck. They’ll be lucky if their children aren’t stolen from them by the Democrat Party.
Only 1 out of 5 being complete morons is encouraging given all of the brainwashing going on.
They’re right their kids will be worse off. The non-Western countries will no longer be using the dollar in international trade and when that happens the value of the dollar (and our standard of living) drops by 50%.
I’m guessing the other 22% don’t have kids.
Embrace the Suck!
And yet they still vote Democrats.

There, fixed it
“But at least we don’t have to worry about Mean Tweets.”
I miss mean tweets.
but but but- “Biden got the most votes of any president ever” according to the lying left-
Was there a follow up question about who they voted for?
But in the world of the typical Biden voter, him and the Democrats being absolutely incompetent, Pres Trump sucks…..that’s all that matters.
