A potentially dangerous tornado outbreak threatens a region covering around 25 million people across the Deep South on Friday, with strong thunderstorms that could spawn intense tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail.
Meanwhile, the potential for flash flooding extends into the Ohio Valley.
The threat is particularly high in the lower Mississippi Valley – where supercells will be capable of producing EF-2 or stronger tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and large hail.
“Favorable wind shear is all going to come together across the Southeast … where we again continue to track this threat of severe weather throughout the day on Friday,” said FOX Weather meteorologist Jane Minar.
Of greatest concern for threatening weather is an area centered around Greenville, Mississippi, stretching as far north as Memphis, Tennessee and as far south as Monroe, Louisiana, and west to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has painted a “significant” risk of severe weather and strong tornadoes, reaching level 4 on their 5-rung severe weather outlook scale.

WE’RE DOOMED! RUN AND HUNKER DOWN!!!
SO much more dramatic than the good ol days when they would say “x” number if states. 25 million is MUCH better than saying 5 states, or whatever. Drama, drama, drama.
They better hurry and get vaxxed. Then they’ll be safe. Even from the heartbreak of psoriasis.
...but what does Ryan Hall have to say?
It’s called “Spring”.
ROFL
Highway 61.
Every tornado season I think back to the WKRP episode where the only civil defense instructions Les Nessman has are what to do in case of a Russian attack. “The city of Cincinnati has just been attacked by the Godless... tornadoes! Citizens are advised to arm themselves immediately.”
EXTREME weather events are worse than ever! MORE COMMON than ever!
Eat your bugs!
Yep

NOBODY says "Deep South" except a bunch of yankee- ass yankees who have never been to the South.
Seriously, I never heard the term "Deep South" growing up in Georgia.
Back on topic, I did go through a pretty bad tornado in Statesboro.
That’s not news. Ryan Hall, a weather forecaster and storm chaser who has a YouTube channel, predicted this like 2-3 days ago.
https://www.weather.gov/ffc/swaw_tor ... We have occasional “tornado warnings” here in NW GA and a basement we can access from inside.
I remember having to go to the hall when we were kids back in the 1970s. Over and over we were taken out of the classroom to get away from possible flying broken glass. Always in spring.

The weather maps are addicting. Arkansas and Missouri are being monkey hammered right now.

Wind speeds at 1000 meters around 40 mph.
Yesterday here in the Deep South there was a high potential for dangerous sunburn, with crystal clear skies, warm Temps and spring break attire exposing 100s of acres of winter white skin along the beaches of the southest.
Oh the humanity.
Yawn. It’s March...
Hopefully no real harm will be done by these storms.
SoCal did get a couple of twisters in this past storm system.
