China is threatening 'serious consequences' after the United States Navy sailed a destroyer around the disputed Paracel Islands in the South China Sea for a second day in a row.
BANGKOK-China threatened "serious consequences' Friday after the United States sailed a destroyer around the disputed Paracel Island in the South China Sea for the second day in a row, in a move Beijing claimed was a violation of its sovereignty and security.
The warning comes amid growing tensions between China and the United States in the region...

Consequences such as? Tell us!
FONOPS. Get bent Xi.
Just like their good buddies, the Russians: They both move military forces into disputed — or desired — areas and “annex” them.
Well, historically it has worked; even if illegal. Fait accompli. Bullies get away with such acts until someone stops them.
Not to worry. Our morally superior Navy uses correct pronouns and burns cooking oil instead of petrol. Those poor Chinese don’t have a chance.
Isn’t it time for you to support China vs the US since they have a “stronger cultural claim” to the Paracels than the US’? Because freedom of navigation is not a thing vs. ‘strong territorial claims’.
Are you going to endorse the Chinese declaring a “Line of Death” around the Paracels?
Face it, you’re a Full-on Troll for Tyrants.
China essentially claims the entirety of the South China Sea as its territory. No other nation recognizes their claim.
The irony in your posts about tyrants escape you as easily as the facts do
I actually visited the Paracel Islands while war was being fought in Viet Nam. Small place. Has a French Foreign Legion cemetery, quite small. Old land records stored at Hue had Vietnamese occupation, and Viet claims to the Paracels going back hundreds of years. The Chinese claim usually derives from a very early map when a Chinese boat captain claimed the whole of the South China Sea for China. Peking’s claim to the Paracels is bogus. Period.
“Monday marked the sixth anniversary of a ruling by an international tribunal that invalidated China’s sweeping claims to the South China Sea, a conduit for about $3 trillion worth of ship-borne trade each year.”
“China has never accepted the ruling.
“China claims almost the entire South China Sea. Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and Brunei all have competing and often overlapping claims.
China has built artificial islands on some of its South China Sea holdings, including airports, raising regional concerns about Beijing’s intentions.”
Siding with a tyrant and against the US again just because they oppose ‘Biden’s foreign policy’?
The few times Vietnam and China have fought, Red China came out pretty bloodied.
For all the bluster of the Chicoms, they are still frightened of the Japanese, and wary of the Vietnamese. And would be scared of us, too, if they didn't own Joe Biden.
We should be sailing Navy vessels...and Navy and Air Force aircraft...around and over those “islands” on a daily basis.
“No mo prastic goods, cheap crothes and shoes for yuuu”
Banging my head against the wall realizing we have ended trade relations with Russia as our foe, but China still enjoys preferential trading relationships with America. Am I missing something?
Yes we are. President Trump.
I believe he was going to take them off the list, bring our corporations and employment home.
.
They have a LOT of money, men, resources and ships. They can make life very difficult and complicated for us.
:-D
From the CCP's perspective, the USA is the bully of Asia, and the CCP will stop them. The USA's military-industrial complex has been surrounding and baiting the CCP for years. Will the CCP take the bait? So far, wisely, they have not, but that could change. The military-industrial complex sees the CCP as their only worthy opponent at the moment, hence the CCP-focused chip on their shoulder.
Communism is its own worst enemy. There's no reason to use blunt force kinetics on communism. Given enough rope, they will always hang themselves. Can we just bomb China with woke libtards? It's the only thing America still manufactures.

I like maps; I always have. I have a bunch of them in my study, current and not current, because I like reading them. Yeah, one can find maps on the internet, but it is not the same thing (at least, not to me).
That being said, I find it difficult to see how you think we have surrounded China. To the north, China is bordered by Russia and Mongolia; to the northwest, Kazakstan; to the west, Pakistan, Kyrgyztan, and Tajikistan; to the southwest, India; to the south, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, Laos, and Vietnam. The only quarter the US has any influence is to the west, out in the ocean, with Japan, South Korea (well, it’s a peninsula, anyway), and Taiwan; the Philippines are to the southwest, across the South China Sea. And Australia? Way the hell down south in a different hemisphere entirely. We have NO influence at all with the countries to the north, west, and south of China.
“Will the CCP take the bait?”
What bait? China has been encroaching on its neighbors for decades, and even militarily taking over islands to which other countries have rightful claims (and even building islands out in the sea that pose threats to everyone in the vicinity.
“Communism is its own worst enemy.”
The problem with that argument is communism tends to murder millions of people along the way.
“There’s no reason to use blunt force kinetics on communism.”
Sounds suspiciously like what some said about another country, but in Europe, almost 90 years ago.
“Given enough rope, they will always hang themselves.”
See my comment above re: the murdered millions.
“Can we just bomb China with woke libtards?”
I actually like that idea!
