Ok I just learned something, which is always a good thing. Detection of helium 4 is not really predictive of an eruption. However changes in the isotopic ratio of the helium released by a volcano have been shown to have predictive value. The helium in the earth’s mantle contains more helium-3 than helium within the crust. An increase in the ratio of helium 3 to helium 4 abundance can potentially predict an eruption.
Thank you auto-correct.
Have no idea why it thought it was a good idea to use a possessive instead of a plural - hit post before I was able to catch it...sigh.
Don’t worry - all of it will be blown up by the super-explosion and we can start fresh with the grammar rules - that is if anyone is still alive to enforce them.
CLICKBAIT!!!!
How many of you fell for it???
your legs give way, you hit the ground
I live 77 miles from it. I’ll hold a parking spot for you!
We can at least stop worrying about the SMOD.
Could be. Very much doubt any legitimate scientist can get funding for any research that may contradict the man made climate change narrative. Today’s universities are not known for legitimate open inquiries of any sort.
hah!
In reality ... Helium 2 (2 protons, no neutrons) is extremely unstable, and undergoes beta decay to form deuterium. So, technically, it is more dangerous that 3-He and 4-He. Deuterium is a component in thermonuclear weapons
and Beta particles kan be realli nasti ...
Helium 1 isn’t helium, it’s hydrogen. As we all know, hydrogen by itself is explosively flammable. That explosive and highly exothermic reaction produces dihydrogen monoxide, which is causatively correlated with all manner of natural disasters and deadly situations. Indeed, the DHMO found in Yellowstone is known to cause severe damage to humans, occasionally resulting in DEATH!!!
For me it’s “get the motorcycle out” week. That’s my coming out!
Best scene in the whole movie!...................
The only thing missing from that picture is a tourist trying to pet a bison.
I think the people down the hall know who you are.
at 73, with peripherial neuropathy in my feet, and a bullet (7.14.75) in my side, it would be sooner.
The Lava Creek tuff. Would it damage my yard so that I wouldn’t have to mow for a while?
Early warning is when the tourist souvenir shops in West Yellowstone start giving away their inventory for free....
Volcano Going Out of Business Sale...
;-)
Agreed.
I think the people down the hall know who you are.
Somebody flick a virgin into a geyser to appease it.
Oh GOODY..some click bait!
Anyone on this thread has a thousand per cent more chance of winning the lottery than that thing erupting.
I saw what you did there. Very clever. :-)
