Nobody else talks about recovering our country in this way.
Sure it’s a whole lot of talk….but talk that really needs to happen.

No, he has not learned a lesson, he has only expanded his intentions.

I think I understand how Sarah attained her “position” in the campaign. It was not the brains in her head.

She is probably looking for a position on MSNBC, CNN or Fox News. A little air brushing and pancake makeup and the right lighting she will do fine.

Who did Reagan have available?

Trump showed up with no team of his own, apparently.

Look, I’m not trying to pile onto Trump. I liked him a lot, and still do. But his hiring was a problem.

Reagan somehow found people who stayed loyal to him, at least mostly. The only bad apple was David Stockman, at least in his first term.

Could I have done better? No. Certainly not. But I’m not angling to be POTUS. Trump should have done some research on how Washington works. He should have started doing that research long before he decided to run. Either he didn’t do the research, or he didn’t care what the research showed.

Either way, things went off the rails.

I was a young man in the 80s, and I remember the hatred for Reagan. It was everywhere, and it was potent. He somehow overcame it. OK, maybe the assassination attempt helped, in a perverse way. But the ATC strike helped too, a lot.

A first term is all Trump got.

Reagan was also a two-time Governor of California, so over the years he did gain a lot of allies in the Republican Party.

Trump started from Square One.

I agree. But that’s the price for having an “outsider” who threatens the Powers That Be on both sides of the aisle.

The Founding Fathers, with their vision of accomplished people taking a few years off from their farms and businesses to go to Washington and help run the country as citizen legislators was — I'm afraid — not realistic.

They apparently didn't foresee the cultural and political structures that would arise in any national government. Or perhaps they didn't foresee the scale and power that would develop in our culture, technological and financial. I don't know, and I'm certainly not blaming them.

I seem to recall something being said about "factions" back then, that being their word for what we call "political parties" and "lobbying groups." Some of them may have foreseen what would happen, I suppose. They did the best they could, which was pretty great anyway.

Well, in all honestly, he learned that the Dung Beetle Party turd rollers stole the 2020 and 2022 elections. I’m pretty sure that’s sufficient.

The only think President Trump needed to learn from Jan. 6th was that rectal orifices like Sarah Matthews will sell her soul for thirty pieces of silver.

Well who’s the dummy who hired her?

This is what you get when you hire people to work for you who have to hold their nose while doing so.

Just because she was in the WH, that does not mean Trump personally hired her or even approved of her. That is mostly done by others. He probably knew of her after she was hired but has little to do with the hiring.
And for all of you who attack him for his personnel choices, yes he made some doozies (Barr, Mattis, Gen Kelly etc), remember, Trump was not a politician (like Desantis, Clinton, Bush, Obama) and didn’t have an indepth team that had been with him like those others did and do. So, he had to rely on others for recommendations and those people were mostly in it for themselves and did him no favors with their recommendations — and that includes many in Congress (Ryan, McConnell etc). So yea, we can fault him for some bad choices but many were the result of trusting those who were two faced with their agenda.

“Sarah Matthews, who worked on the Trump campaign and as a deputy press secretary in the Trump White House, said on CNN”

And she hasn’t learned not to appear on the enemy camp’s propaganda arm.

A republican appearing on CNN to criticize fellow Republicans is the equivalent of Axis Sally or lord Haw Haw going on nazi germany radio to criticize their home countries
