Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has finally broken his silence on his much anticipated potential 2024 presidential run, giving an interview from the governor's mansion in which he said that he has what it takes to be president and "I can beat Biden."
DeSantis sat down with Piers Morgan in a wide-ranging interview, saying "stay tuned" when asked about the potential 2024 bid for the GOP nomination. Former President Donald Trump is currently the front-runner for that spot, as he endeavors to earn his second term.
"It was clear that the governor has had enough of Trump’s constant baiting and felt ready to take him on in what could end up being a ferocious battle for the White House," Morgan said, writing about the interview for the New York Post.
"DeSantis slammed Trump over his character failings," Morgan continued, "chaotic leadership style, and for his handling of the COVID pandemic — especially in keeping controversial health chief Dr. Anthony Fauci in his post helping to run the White House Coronavirus Taskforce."
Morgan asked DeSantis how the two most popular Republicans in the country are different, and DeSantis said "Well I think there’s a few things. The approach to COVID was different. I would have fired somebody like Fauci. I think he got way too big for his britches, and I think he did a lot of damage."
DeSantis shut down Florida early on in the pandemic before opening up and giving the state the label "the free state of Florida."
"I also think just in terms of my approach to leadership," DeSantis said, slamming the former president and the man to whom he owes much of his political start, "I get personnel in the Government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda. You bring your own agenda in you’re gone. We’re just not gonna have that. So, the way we run the Government I think is no daily drama, focus on the big picture and put points on the board and I think that’s something that’s very important."
Morgan asked about the mudslinging that has already started as rumors of a DeSantis run swirl. "I don’t know how to spell the sanctimonious one. I don’t really know what it means, but I kinda like it, it’s long, it's got a lot of vowels. We’ll go with that, that’s fine. I mean you can call me whatever you want, just as long as you also call me a winner because that’s what we’ve been able to do in Florida, is put a lot of points on the board and really take this State to the next level," he said.
Trump endorsed DeSantis when he first ran for governor, helping him beat out Andrew Gillum. "Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader. Yale and then Harvard who would make a great Governor of Florida. He loves our country. He’s a true fighter," Trump had said at the time.
"Things have changed a little bit, I guess. It is what it is," DeSantis said.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
OK. I can’t say since I’ve only read articles from CTH posted here.
Don’t know what SQL is but pretty fair results can be had through DuckDuckGo (or others) if you can think of exact phrasing, handles or titles (all prefaced with “freerepublic”) as search words. I’ve pulled up specific posts and threads well over ten years old that way. It is hit or miss.
SQL is the language of databases ... I’ve used it for 30 years ... but most dbs are protected behind firewalls etc so only the application (like this website) has access. You’ll get some, but relatively little, data through a search engine.

Good question.
The crowd openly booing OZ at that rally showed how bad he was..
Didn’t stop the usual suspects from pushing him and waisting more than 100,000,000 that could have helped win winnable races pushing that turd.
They needed to put that money toward Mastriano for gov. Mastriano would have gotten a grip on the election fraud in PA.
DeSantis’ best course would be to not announce for president. He could say he never intended to run, has too much business on his plate in FL.
Remember that Newt Gingrich gathered GOP members to support Carter’s creation of the dept. of education.
GOP held Senate from 1981 to 1987 but never had the House during that time. Back then though there a couple of dozen conservative Democrats in the House. The Senate majority was tainted by the “moderate” Howard Baker of TN.
This is the problem when you have a lawyer who has never worked outside government in a position of power. He’s flat broke (relatively speaking) and must always follow orders just to pay his bills.
THIS is why it’s so important to have someone like Trump — who is independently wealthy and doesn’t need the job — serving in public office.
He would have been better off doing that months ago. If he does it now, after all the media hype and the travel to other states and the stupid interviews, he looks foolish and weak.
Matriano was a still birth.
He ran a horrible campaign. Yes the party should have supported him, but they didn’t want him and were never going to give him anything but token support in public while working against him behind the scenes.
But Mastriano ran probably the worst campaign I’ve seen. Only talking to friendly outlets, etc etc.. Governor’s race was indeed overshadowed by the huge amount spent by both parties trying to buy the Senate seat.. but Mastriano never had a shot, just a horrible horrible campaign.
I do agree as a Pennsylvanian the governors race was far more important to citizens of PA than the Senator’s race... but the GOPe of PA is absolutely horrible. Harrisburg in many ways is as much if not more of a swamp than DC. The establishment GOP here is absolutely useless.
Controlled both houses the state legislature for all but 4 of the last 30 years or so and we have the highest gas taxes in the nation... etc etc.
Until people wake up and realize the establishment GOP is as much a part of the problem as the Dems, nothing is going to change.
No it isn't and DeSantis is a Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush republican and we are not going back to that. If DeSantis wants to commit polictal suicide then go against Trump in 24 and throw away his 28 changes that his choice. All he is doing is showing us he is not fit to be president ever.
Quote: “No it isn’t”
So if Trump (God Forbid) were to die tomorrow that would be it for you? We can just go commie because the movement is dead? Awesome.
I thought Oz was one of the dumbest decisions Trump ever made, but I really didn't think a zombie could win over a live human.
If these elections are really honestly being won by democrats the hang it up because it is over and we can never correct it. If you think you can then you are the deluded one.
Never said they did. Trump however was a different story.
PA Senate was winnable last cycle, but not with OZ as the candidate....
Numbers in PA are pretty straight forward.
46%D
39%R
15%I
To win statewide in PA you need to get every single R vote to be gotten, and win I’s by more than 2 to 1 and/or peel off moderate and conservative democrats.
OZ had ZERO shot of accomplishing that. Carpet bagger, WEF member, Fraud, absolutely no way he was going to be able to win statewide, not as a Republican anyway.
I don’t know who Trump was taking advice from for that endorsement but he took horrible advice. Should have backed Barnett, she would have outperformed OZ and not needed 100,000,000 to do it.
Trump got 81 million
There is no way on earth Biden got 81 million
My theory is that they flipped 15 percent from Trump to biden.
Then that was not enough, so they had to come up with 4 million more in the middle of the night.
Me either, hard to believe they were a real
advisor.
Well he didn’t do anything about it in his four years so he has to live with it.
