Secondly, DeSantis will not win the general because Trumpers will not vote. Outcome - destroy Trump, DeSantis and MAGA in one swoop. Barnes also explains the case against Trump and other insights. Worth the time.
I don’t think they realize that Trump is the only thing stopping US from getting to them.

The truth IMO is no Republican can win unless both sides in the general election get out and vote for whoever the nominee is.
Trump could get 100% of the MAGA vote and would not win unless he attracts people who don’t consider themselves MAGA supporters. They’re simply not enough MAGA voters to elect Trump POTUS again.
Same goes for DeSantis or any other Republican they can’t win without the MAGA vote and attracting additional voters.
That’s why it’s foolish for Trump and DeSantis to trade really classless insults back and forth.

Trump is a liberal Republican who is interested in HIS power. He’s picked fights with everyone whose support he needs which is why he didn’t get squat done during his last 1-2 years in office. He would enter office with such ill will - if by a miracle he won - that he’d get NOTHING through Congress.
But if Only Trumpers insist on Only Trump, we WILL get Team Biden for 4 more years.

It will hurt him because it is such an outrage that a delayed measured response is not going over well with the base. Especially when so many fair weather Rino’s like Linda come out hard on it.
