US State Department spokesman Vedant Patel condemned the Knesset's passage of an amendment repealing the Disengagement from northern Samaria and allowing Jews to return to the four communities which were destroyed there in 2005.
"The United States is extremely troubled that the Israeli Knesset has passed legislation rescinding important parts of the 2005 Disengagement Law, including the prohibition on establishing settlements in the northern West Bank," Patel said.

Oh, I know.
It was a regular fight in my home growing up. Three grandparents from the Shoa and one (mom’s mom) from Egypt. Mom’s mom won growing up.
I married an Orthodox/former Hasidic Ashkenazi. So no beans.
But I agree with my Bubbe (yes, I know that’s Yiddish). It’s just flat stupid.
The boy is taking classes as Chabad, just toes in. We’ll see. He does speak fluent Hebrew already. And converted once already, to a Nazarene, which I consider an improvement theologically. So he’s on a journey. Son-in-law or not, I wish him well.
Maybe it’s time for the US government To stop meddling in other countries affairs

I wonder if our State Dept is as troubled by the fact the Palestinians haven’t bothered with an election since 2006. Must be due to Covid or some such nonsense.
Nah. They’re jealous of that fact.
