The Pentagon is accelerating the delivery of Abrams tanks to Ukraine by sending refurbished older models, cutting the timeline for when they could reach the battlefield from two years to several months, according to reports on Tuesday.
The Biden administration pledged in January to send 31 advanced new M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, reversing months of reluctance to supply Kyiv with the armored vehicles because they are hard to operate and maintain.
But the new tanks would have taken a year or more to build and ship.
Officials then opted for using older versions that will be taken from Army stocks, refurbished and deployed to Ukraine in as soon as eight to 10 months.
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby on Tuesday morning confirmed that Pentagon officials were trying to find a way to get the tanks to Ukraine faster than had been expected

It’s about OUR TANKS making dead Russians. That’s OUR goal.
How many hundreds of hours does it take to train a tank crew for an Abrams?
They will either:
1. Rush these into service, using untrained/ under-trained crews.
Or,
2. these will be manned by US personel.
I would expect that there have NOT been Ukrainian personel, training in simulators in the US for the past year?
Less equipment for feds to use on us when they decide to eliminate us.
Only bright side to all this
Remember back in 1942 the aircraft carrier Yorktown was damaged in the Battle of the Coral Sea, limped back to Hawaii and was repaired in 72 hours an took part in the Battle of Midway.
Original estimates were the repairs to Yorktown would take a couple of weeks if not longer, it took 72 hours.
Makes you wonder how something done in 1942 can’t be done in 2023.
Not at all..
Red tape
Regulations
Unions
Osha
environmental impacts
and the list goes on..
Of course they’re refurbishing them. I don’t believe the US has bought a new M1 in decades.
These things are rolling fortresses and can be easily rebuilt.
The latest C17 (Globemaster III) can load 170,900 lbs, or about 85 tons.
I bet she's eaten that in Cheetos alone.
Bkmk
Anyone else starting to feel like we’re reliving the first two decades of the 1900s...
Maybe buffet.....
The F-16s definitely will, when he ships them.
We’ll have “technicians” and “mechanics” Boots-On-The-Ground, by then.
Might not be enough.
Hi.
Pinging Trackheads..
To train a crew in that MOS (after BCT) is about 18 weeks.
Buenos suarte.

As if a couple more tanks will make any difference in the outcome, I just can’t believe these idiots and what they are doing. Just incredible total incompetence with everything these morons do.
That was out parents’ generation and the nation was on on a war footing; all we have today is a gutted-out US Military, plants turning out EV crap, and this generation which couldn’t knit a scarf.
Speaking as someone whose Mother spent the war as a welder building ships, working 12-hour days 6 days per week, it is simple...
Americans were free, loved America, were, mostly, devout Christians, and believed in an individual's independence...
My younger brother (age 6-to-10) and I (age 8-to-12) lived with our grandparents for most of the war... Dad joined the Marines in February 1942, and we saw him next in 1946... My Mother paid the price and became a health casualty of the war at an early age...
Americans that remain are few and far between...
Most have died off...
The U.S. is populated by serfs now...
As soon as 8 to 10 months?
Good to know our military is keeping up to date with current threats. FFS. Trannies and woke AA clowns in charge.
