That's Gratitude? After billions in US aid (including a recent $1 billion pledge), South Africa is conducting joint military exercises with Russia and China

South Africa, alas, is not our friend. Despite decades of financial and moral support from the United States, South Africa is drifting into alignment with our rivals for global supremacy. Daniel Greenfield reports for Front Page Magazine:

In November 2022, Climate Envoy John Kerry announced a giveaway of $1 billion in foreign aid to South Africa. The failed racist state which regularly suffers blackouts from its socialist power system was being offered billions to subsidize electric cars and green energy.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen claimed that “President Ramaphosa and the South African Government have created a bold plan identifying a clear strategy for achieving South Africa’s most ambitious climate targets.”

In reward for that $1 billion and the billions in foreign aid dispensed over the years, South Africa is conducting joint military exercises with China and Russia.

The Biden administration had little to say except that it was “concerned”, but wasn’t about to tear up that $1 billion check to make sure that a crime-ridden country with $500 million in car thefts a year has all the electric cars its car thieves need to steal and resell.

Naledi Pandor, the African National Congress’ Foreign Minister, a Muslim convert, claimed that it was just “an exercise with friends” and that objecting to her government’s decision to conduct military exercises with China and Russia was an “abuse of international practice.”

The ANC government has the right to conduct joint military exercises with our enemies. And we have the right to stop funding the corrupt ANC Communist party destroying the country.

Unfortunately, bad things are in store for South Africa no matter what the US does. Horrendous levels of violence are now commonplace. And matters could get much worse if, as appears increasingly likely, the power grid collapses. Frank Chung writes:

South Africa is on the verge of “collapse” amid rolling blackouts and warnings a total power grid failure could lead to mass rioting on the scale of a “civil war”.

Western embassies including the United States and Australia have advised their citizens in the country to stock up on “several days worth” of food and water and be on high alert during extended blackouts sweeping the country.

Make no mistake in a sea of epic Democrat fails-

Russia and China strategically aligning around the globe is the biggest fail of all.

US policy has been befriend one and use it against the other for decades.

So we give them a billion to squander on green cars and whatnot, which they don’t want or need, and expect them to bow down to us. What ignorant hubris. This is a great illustration of the devastation biden has brought to foreign affairs.

Is this nonsense out of Atlas Shrugged? All we need is a pirate on the open seas to bring fiction to nonfiction.

Why? Because the world considers the USA as Flakes. Untrustworthy. Every few years we deviate from Leftists to Interventionists, to Isolationists.
We as a country have no National Compass. We are unreliable. Period. Our country is a mess. A multicultural tug-of-war society that no one can count on for anything remotely resembling stability or coherence.
A totally dysfunctional superpower with no coherent world perspective. A nation at war with ourselves.

There's 4.5 million Whites in South Africa. The writing is on the wall. They should have left around 20 years ago.

Also, there are 1.2 million Indians. They should leave too. I assume they are industrious and entrepreneurial.

Plus, the Afghanistan withdrawal atrocities certainly didn’t go unnoticed by the world, including our worst foreign enemies. We’re a total joke to them....a joke not to be trusted in any way, shape or form. We can thank the RATs for all of it....every last bit of it.

“”South Africa is marxist socialist since the 90s””

The ANC nationalized industry, including the power grid, in the 1990s. Lately, they have embraced Globull Gloaming, and are cutting back coal mining. There are already 12 hour blackouts regularly. The entire power grid is about to collapse. A few days of supplies will not suffice. There are some that have generators, but without enough fuel......

Around 20 years ago, I had a friend that told me the next
goal was to turn the United States into South Africa.

I laughed.

Not laughing so hard now, with CRT and other things going
on.

Yep, whoever thought financing the communist ANC backed by China and Russia was a good idea… this war in Ukraine is like a front for leftist activism at home. Biden is not at war with Russia but carrying out plausible deniability of being in the back pocket of Putin (Burisma connection)

Hmm… no, Russia and China and the Talebans for that matter had always been aligned. It is just that leftists are acting like it is a big surprise when they knew it all along.

Well, at least with the Russian and Chinese presence the South African natives won't have worry about an apartheid-like social environment.(/sarc)

We’ve been sending billions over there since I was a teen in the 60s. The more we help, the more they hate us.
