Ron DeSantis on Trump: I can't speak to porn star payments
BBC News ^ | March 20 | By Anthony Zurcher

Posted on 03/20/2023 11:18:48 AM PDT by RandFan

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, when asked about rumours of former President Donald Trump's impending indictment, denounced the man in charge of the investigation, New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

What the man who might be Mr Trump's most formidable presidential rival said next, however, was telling.

"I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair," he said. "I just I can't speak to that."

He went on to mention "porn star hush money payments" a second time, before pivoting back to criticism of what he called a "high-profile politicised prosecution" by a prosecutor he said was backed by deep-pocketed liberal donor George Soros.

The Florida governor seemed to go out of way to emphasise the tawdry origins of the potential crimes being investigated, even while denouncing the investigation itself.

That could be a sign of how Mr Trump's presidential rivals handle a possible arrest and criminal trial for falsifying business records and state campaign finance law violations.

Mr DeSantis had been under pressure from Trump supporters to defend the former president and denounce the prosecution ever since the Mr Trump speculated on his social media website that he would be arrested on Tuesday.

That’s 100% true, but this mess would not be happening were it not for Trump cheating on his wife from years ago.

Would they be going after him for something else, absolutely they already are, but this particular mess is 100% his Trump’s fault.

Maybe Trump shouldn’t have said horrible things about him over the past several months.

Ahhh, poor poor Ron. He is not ready for prime time.

I prefer Senator Cruz’s response:

“ Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “political persecution” of former President Donald Trump as “utter and complete crap.”

“The case from the Manhattan District Attorney, if they bring an indictment and charge him, is utter and complete crap…It is flimsy. It is weak,” Cruz said on his latest Verdict podcast episode. “It has been rejected by prosecutor after prosecutor after prosecutor. And it is obviously political retribution and a political persecution.

“[Bragg] hates Donald Trump. Now he has a right to hate Donald Trump. But he doesn’t have a right to abuse and corrupt the justice system to persecute his political opponents. And that, sadly, is exactly what he’s doing here,” the Texas senator continued.”

“What did Kennedy pay for MM?
Apparently not enough if he had to have her whacked.”

Looks more like the CIA wacked her trying to send him a message he ignored...

You do know that Trump has cheated on his wives multiple times over years and it would come as no surprise if Stormy Daniels was one of the women he cheated with.

You also should know Trump paid her a lot of money for something and that is the question.

I don’t know if Trump was banging Stormy Daniels or not, it’s not the point, the point is, he was accused of it and paid her a bunch of money to keep quiet about something. Trump cheating on his wife is something he’s done repeatedly; it would come as no surprise if he was cheating with a porn star.

You smell funny!

DeSantis just came off as a big loof and a part of the DC establishment. He is another Crenshaw of Texas. POS gutless greedy, focused only on themselves and the DC reaching for the brass ring… and screw the American people. He’s done. I would not vote for him if he was the last candidate on the face of this earth. We are so done with these kind of candidates that don’t have balls of steel to fight the corruption in DC and the corrupt law enforcement. Chicken shit! Sad really I had high hopes for him. I really did like him but now I’m souring on him fast. He does not understand that whatever or whoever attacks a conservative is attacking the base. He is another McDaniels, the fat eating crappy chairwoman who speaks through her mouth and her butt …you can’t have it both ways. If shoe was on the other foot, I would’ve defended DeSantis from here to the high heavens, but what he has demonstrated of late with the illegal raiding of trump’s home and now this speaks volumes.

You know she denied the affair, right? Yet you keep spewing that cr@p.

LOL, she would deny it, BECAUSE she signed a $130,000 nondisclosure agreement.

Why do you suppose Stormy had to pay Trump $300K for false charges? We don’t know if there was any truth in the charge or not just like Russia.

Nope, just shows DeSantis as petty and would put personal matters over the country. Typical narcissist and Bush lite move.

“Now, Trump is the one in potential trouble and his supporters want every Republican to drop everything and give 100% support, if Trump and his supporters want 100% support in this matter it might help if Trump and his supporters were not engaged in a dirty underhanded campaign against DeSantis.”

“Trump’s and his supporters” want to save the nation.

It’s not a cult thing. Trump is proven. He is human carbon steel and wants what every patriot wants.

Toying around with the idea of anyone else is a fools errand.

Desantis, not now. Maybe, never.

“we need a wartime consigliere”

Let’s not forget that Trump is 100% responsible for this mess

Sure he is, just like Russia, Russia, Russia and Ukraine and J6th. You're as much a POS as anyone else that supports weaponized government as long as you get some kind of benefit.
