Gov. Evers wants to expand background checks on guns through budget proposal; Here's what data shows for rejected gun purchases in Wisconsin Ricardo Torres Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
President Joe Biden traveled to Monterey Park, California on Tuesday, where a gunman killed 11 people and injured nine others in January, to announce he signed an executive order to increase the number of background checks during gun sales.
The executive order does not call for universal background checks, but a proposal at the state level is being evaluated by lawmakers to expand handgun background checks.
Gov. Tony Evers is proposing in the 2023-'25 biennial budget that all handgun purchases and transfers, "with certain exceptions," require background checks to be done through a federally licensed gun dealer.
With Republicans firmly in control of the Legislature, it's unlikely background checks or any court-mandated gun confiscation program will make the final budget. But with measures being pushed at both the state and federal levels we thought it would be a good time to take a look at how the checks have been working in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin has an almost VETO proof, Republican majority in its state Congress. I can’t remember which chamber, but one of them is a 2 or 3 seats shy, while the other is veto proof.
If the NC legislature wins its case before SCOTUS, it could be the game-changer or game-changers, IMHO, with regard to election laws in the country.
Legislatures will be able to make election laws and redistrict without interference from the courts, Marc Elias and Left wing sympathetic judges.
It will be up to the Republican legislatures to do their jobs, at that point.
In effect, the Wisconsin legislature could write a law(s) that would make it impossible for 2 or 3 cities to sway the outcome of an election and send folks like Evers packing. Perhaps a state level “electoral college”, where the liberals and vote fraud in the cities don’t dictate everything.
Elections do have consequences. Looks like the hunting and shooting boyz up in Wisconsin are going to need to learn to play rummy and dominos when they aren’t doing “honey-dos”. ROTFL.
The Left and their pet Democrats and RINOS are starting to make their moves for total control. Goodbye 2024 elections.
IIRC-—There are OVER 600,000 licensed hunters in Wisconsin.
IF a group goes hunting & one hunter uses another hunter’s gun for ANY reason-—the state considers that a TRANSFER and IF not done with paperwork, is open to prosecution.

I thought all that “Lawlessness and Chaos” was done away with by the Democrats back in 1968!
“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”-— Lyndon Johnson signing the 1968 gun control act into law.
And Thomas J. Dodd, who wrote the 1968 gun control act using the 1938 Nazi weapons act as a pattern...
“No one can predict how many lives will be spared because of this bill, but, if the bloody record of our yesterdays is any measure, millions of future Americans will live to enjoy the promise of many peaceful tomorrows.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play a part in this great moment in our time.” Thomas J. Dodd on passage of the 1968 Gun control act.
