Please find me “running for President” in the Constitution.
For that matter (except for Electors casting their votes in December), please find me “Presidential election” in the Constitution.

Could he pardon himself? I’d pay good money to see that.

They’re building the premise that Trump is definitely going to go to prison. They are poisoning any potential jury pools.

He definitely could. His chances would be probably sharply improved. Woodrow Wilson jailed socialist candidate Eugene v debs prior to the 1920 election. Debs ended up getting over a million votes from jail— one of the largest hauls in socialist history. After Warren Harding pardons him on Christmas Eve, votes for socialists declined in 1924.
Wilson pioneered the jail your opponents by using the FBI method.

from what I gather, the Stormy thing is a civil suit, that’s just a fine, not prison.

If Trump is indicted and convicted on state charges in New York or elsewhere, he cannot be pardoned by anyone except the state's governor. I cannot imagine Governor Hochul of New York pardoning Trump.

Crooked judges nowadays can do anything, but Trump has nothing to worry about if he gets an honest judge. The case should be dismissed on motion.

Only a president in office has power to pardon.

If DJT is charged there’s no way that a verdict would occur before the election. His lawyers would make sure of that....even if the prosecutor’s office doesn’t.

True.
Then again, if this situation did happen I am sure that Trump would have so many federal investigations with New York State.
That is, if he doesn’t pick another Jeff Sessions.

I will vote for Trump if he is prison, without any hesitation.
