Re: Microsoft Excel is a recurring yearly charge too
I believe the entire portfolio of Microsoft products is now subscription (and Cloud) based.
It is more expensive, but they upgrade and offer new features several times a year for most applications, so I actually prefer the incremental improvements to the former method of brand new app versions every three or four years.
Years ago before I retired I purchased an Office Pack from MS that was stand alone and still works (I’m using Window 10 currently). It has Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. No subscriptions.
Yep, “cable cutting” is accelerating:
People are “ala carte” streaming or doing without...(lousy programming).
Was overpriced at 35 a month IMHO.
75 a month.. good luck
Pretty sure this is to watch the movies and sports etc that arenβt freely available through it.
Unfortunately low cost and free TV is getting harder to find. I hooked an antenna up to my TV and got 3 or 4 ok looking channels and a bunch of low resolution crappy channels. Next I looked into ATSC 3.0 which is the higher resolution standard and find that broadcasters are implementing DRM so that they control you and your tuner, recordings etc. Pass
The quality and great content of YouTube videos are well worth watching, especially for the price, π€£. Main stream entertainment is just not worth watching for me.
“Fubo is a similar service and it’s in the same price range.”
It was, its not now.
I’m dropping fubo after this billing cycle because my low monthly bill just jumped to $104 a month because they added a local sports network to my package....that I can’t opt out of BTW.
F that
Here’s an idea. Stop watching TV entirely. There’s almost nothing but unwatchable wokist crap on, and you have much better things to do with your time.
We had Fubo and it was $80 last month including sports. They must charge different prices in different areas. If it goes to over $100 for us, I will put up a stink about the family budget. Hubby watches college football so I pause it every year when football season is over. I’ll be watching like a hawk next fall!
If you get an email from them saying your getting an LSN added to your package you can expect your bill to jump.
They just use that added content as an excuse to jack up the bill.
Forcing content on customers and raising the bill with no way to opt out is infuriating....I hope fubo goes under.
Yes..... and Fox News and Fox Business
Philo TV is pretty intriguing for $25 a month if you careless about Sports and Cable news as they have none. Also no local channels, but if you are in the big city / suburbs you can set up for over the air and get your news and some sports. Also there are some work arounds with your internet service and Kodi boxes.

Yeah, I could use the extra time to dig into the 87 "Mack Bolan" 70's paperbacks I had delievered. (I'm working on getting my attitude adjusted)
I haven't had a television for 6 or 7 years and don't miss it even the slightest bit.
I cut the cord not only to save money, but to focus on things other than what is considered entertainment these days. Their are plenty of free alternatives that firmly plant me in the past.
