There would be an exception to save the life of the woman and exceptions in the case of pregnancy caused by rape or incest until 15 weeks of pregnancy. In those cases, the woman would have to provide documentation such as a medical record, restraining order or police report.

Right or wrong, over the years, I’ve acquired the notion that “some” women use abortion as a form of birth control.
If I’m right, and I believe I am, then this is particularly galling since there are multiple means of birth control available to all women these days starting with the aspirin held between the knees.
Some were. After Roe v. Wade was overturned, interest in actual birth control shot up.
I don’t like abortion, but have these legislators considered what this could do to them in the next election? We did great with the 15-week ban, but there are still heavily blue areas in this state. If a 6-week ban compels people to flip the legislature and put a Dumb-O-Crat in the Governor’s mansion, then guess what? Not only will the 6-week ban be repealed, but the 15-week ban will be repealed, also. We will have abortion-uber-alles in Florida.
And that regime change will, of course, be accompanied by higher taxes, gun control, CRT in education, wokery and restrictions on devices that use fossil fuels, such as the fanatical bans on ICE cars by 2035. Dumb-O-Crat politicians are Commies.
Hopefully, I’m dead wrong about this, and a six-week ban will propel conservatism to greater heights here in Florida. But it’s better to have a good, conservative political regime that saves some unborn lives with a 15-week ban than a Commie regime that ultimately saves none. JMO.
That’s a good take on the situation. Yes, the risks are real — going too far too fast. As always, as society’s mores shift back and forth, it is always the innocent who suffer the most. They say politics is a blood sport; yes, in more ways than one.
You appear to want it to be legal to murder innocent little preborn babies within a fifteen-week window.
Sacrifice something else instead of the lives of innocent little preborn babies.

I actually don’t like that. But I also don’t want the law to be repealed because a stricter ban produced a Commie Dumb-O-Crat majority in the legislature and a Commie in the Governor’s mansion. Enough women get pissed, especially in the sizable blue areas in this state, that’s what will happen.
And, as I mentioned before, such a regime WILL be accompanied by higher taxes, gun control, CRT, wokery, higher crime, all-EVs by 2035, etc. Just look at what’s happening in my old state of Maryland. No way am I going back there.
