Nearly half of Democrat voters view China as a bigger threat to the US than Russia: poll

Nearly half of registered Democrat voters think that China poses a more significant to the U.S. than Russia, according to a newly released Quinnipiac University poll.

The poll, released Wednesday, further revealed that six in 10 Americans believe China to be a greater threat to the U.S. than Russia and North Korea, according to Quinnipiac University. Conversely, 38% of Democrats and only 10% of Republicans said Russia posed the greatest threat.

Of all Independents who participated in the survey, 64% consider China the primary enemy of the U.S., with only 18% seeing Russia as the biggest threat, according to the poll.

Further, 50% of registered voters support a national ban of TikTok, a social media app owned by China-based ByteDance. A strong majority of Republican voters, 64%, support a ban while only 39% of Democrats would back such a measure.

Both the White House and Congress have railed around initiatives to limit the popular social media application, despite assurances from TikTok that user data isn’t provided to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

U.S.-China relations have worsened in recent months following the incursion of a Chinese spy balloon, which was ultimately shot down, into U.S. airspace. Furthermore, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang warned against the U.S. trying to contain Beijing, citing escalating tensions between the U.S. and China over Taiwan and critical technologies, the Financial Times reported.

The survey of 1,795 U.S. adults nationwide took place from March 9-13 with a margin of error of +/- 2.3 percentage points.

So, even Democrats know who the bigger threat is. But, the ruling class was and would more than okay with China had it not aligned with Russia.

It's just more proof our foreign policy has nothing to do with defending the nation and everything about enriching the political class and their financial backers.

Russia has a GDP roughly that of the state of Texas. They just really stretch their Rubles better than America and our dollars. They lost the cold war because we could Outstanding them. They will win Ukraine because they can easily out-economize us. All we know is spending money and changing genders.

Who are the 105 of Republicans that think kleptocracy Russia is a bigger threat to the US than communist China. I think they’re still stuck on the old monolithic threat of the old USSR and never got the news that they became a kleptocracy in the nineties. When it comes to monolithic global threats, China is the new USSR

I think that may be true of some Americans but not of anyone in Congress.

The political elite, their financial backers and the defense industry use our foreign policy to enrich themselves. We interfere in other countries for that reason. Russia has become an obstacle to doing all that. Thus, the reason Russia was targeted for a proxy war in Ukraine.

only 10% of Republicans said Russia posed the greatest threat.

That number includes most of our cute cudly RINOs like Linda and Turdle and loyalty-test Pence.

Russia and China and NATO have thermonuclear weapons that each can destroy each other with. That will not happen. How one destroys an enemy today is via economics, as we did the Soviet Union under the Regan Presidency. Which George Bush totally screwed up post their economic fail. Today Russia should be an ally and not an adversary. George Bush Senior did this. China is a economic force equal to us today. To contain China we must attack them economically.

So, even Democrats know who the bigger threat is.

So you finally admit that Russia is a threat to the U.S.

About time.

Actually they aren’t out economising even the Ukrainians.

Right now the russians are throwing air to sea missiles at buildings, decades old tanks getting blown to pieces, etc.

Meanwhile, how many on our side supported the one-sided trade deals that made them into the threat they are?

I’m surprised they didn’t say Donald Trump.
China is our biggest threat.
Russia isn’t a big threat to us.
