Uganda's parliament is set to consider a draft law that criminalises anyone identifying as LGBTQ+, and threatens them with 10 years in jail.
The bill also threatens landlords who rent premises to gay people with a prison sentence.
Speaker Annet Anita Among used homophobic language as she addressed lawmakers after the bill was tabled.
It is the latest sign of rising homophobia in a country where homosexual acts are already illegal.
Campaign group Human Rights Watch (HRW) said it believed that if the law was passed, Uganda would be the only African country to criminalise those who simply identify as LGBTQ+.

If you read a little further, it's more a law criminalizing same-sex "marriages," or claims of some marriage-like relationship between two people of the same sex. The proposed law also criminalizes same-sex relationships with MINORS! It also seeks to ban any type of public promotion of homosexuality, especially to children.
All reasonable and good goals.
People of conservative faiths and open homosexuals cannot coexist.
Because homosexual endorsement and legal protection makes being a believer a legal liability. And a social one. We lose our jobs and social standing simply for saying homosexual behavior is a sin.

U R right on that. Just look at our standings in the various topics that come out. Worst deficit. High School kids ratings in grades (we should be #1 with all the money we blow on schools, in the billions and billions and tons of our kids cannot read, write or do arithmetic!!!). We rate low in most all. Except one. We have the largest number of liberals in one country, in the world. We have more than a lost of EU countries added together.
Give gays their own country. It will be a rainbow. They can thrive. No need to reproduce as the heteros keep producing them. They’d have strong military as the neighbors will attack them. We’ll see who recognizes the country.

Uganda must take such measures particularly because foreign agents and NGOs are so aggressively pushing the homo agenda there. They’ve mostly repelled the fagflux until now, due to the foundations of rich Baganda and other native cultures’ values and wisdom, and also because of the major religions. However, weed promotion is harder to stop and that is helping to loosen and “open” the youths minds to faeggotry. This is reflected in the annual Nyege Nyege festival fagfluxed into Uganda by foreigners with the help of expat Ugandans at their bathhouse sides, incorporating heavy weed use with popular music to promote sodomy. Government has had a difficult time stopping this because drug addicts screech loud when their degenerate pleasures are interrupted and also the west has been most insistent about the “rights” of this festival, knowing its function in promoting weed and faeggotry in general. Prior Ethics Minister Simon Lokodo (RIP) was working hard to ban the festival but even the government had to rein him in under pressure from foreigners as well as screeching potheads.
But they can't reproduce. They must hope for a constant influx of young gay immigrants.
