Not all men want to serve at the front, because of moral objections or because they want to dedicate themselves to the country in a different way. At least 26 Telegram groups that helped men escape mobilization have been banned by the Ukrainian security service.

A few hours after the Russian invasion last year, martial law was declared. Since then, men between the ages of 18 and 60 are no longer allowed to leave the country. They are subject to compulsory military service, with exceptions for, for example, fathers of more than three children and specific occupational groups. Those who refuse to mobilize will be fined or eventually imprisoned...

They only recruit men to serve on the "Eastern Front" let me be the first to say "Sexist".

Ukraine has been under martial law for more than a year now no wonder Biden likes Ukraine. He probably wishes he could do that.

The truth about Ukraine slowly seeping out.

because they want to dedicate themselves to the country in a different way.

IOW....they don’t want to get blown to bits or get whacked by Wagner. No wonder they’re snatching boys and old men off the street. Ukraine is winning though.

Military conscription during a time of war is not unusual in history. Is that the ‘truth’ you say is seeping out?

When you are at every man 18 to 60 being conscripted that’s like Germany in 1944 near the end the bottom of the barrel.

“When you are at every man 18 to 60 being conscripted that’s like Germany in 1944 “

When foreign civilians are compelled to join their military, it would be an indication that Ukraine has depleted its resources to a significant extent.

you deduce that from an editorial article about one person looking to avoid conscription. that’s like reading an article about some freak trans non-binary and buying in on the propaganda line that a significant percentage of the population are mis-gendered when it’s just few that make a lot of noise.

The Russians have similar problems with men who don’t want to go to war.

The U.s. had/has similar problems, and they call themselves ‘conscientious objectors’.

Many people see them as cowards, who don’t deserve the freedoms that others get for them by fighting for their country.

Conscientious objector was a special class of draft status and 170,000 were granted CO status during the Vietnam era.

In WWII one CO that served but refused to carry a gun was awarded the Medal of Honor and Mel Gibson made a movie about him.

All the brave ones are dead. Now it’s time for reinforcements. Zelensky may listen to Xi. Cease fire?
