Alex Yenni recently endeavored to take his wife and 5-year-old son bowling with another family in Petaluma, Calif., close to their home. The plan quickly went into the gutter.
Mr. Yenni, a 42-year-old advertising executive, tried to book online in advance at AMF Boulevard Lanes, where he wanted to reserve two lanes for two hours at 3 p.m. on the last Thursday of the year during winter break.
The price quoted by the website, run by national operator Bowlero Corp., knocked him over: $418.90. “This strikes me as outrageous for a pedestrian family activity,” he said.

Yea...it was a ROUGH 3 days.
I think i lost 10 pounds during that episode.
50-50 mayonnaise and ketchup
25-75 or 75-25 - mix well -figure out which ratio works best for you
Dill relish - not sweet but hamburger relish - mix a little of that in
A bit of paprika, onion powder and a pinch of garlic powder
Plaster that on the burgers with some shredded lettuce
50-50 mayonnaise and ketchup works well on fries 🍟🍟🍟 onion rings and tater tots
I was dehydrated, sick and couldn’t eat for three days.
Flat stomach in 3 days. Back to my size 32 jeans 👖.
Rough way to lose it.
I let the weight come back oops
The worst was the dehydration.
So thirsty but any water that went down would almost instantly come back up.
On day 4 i ate the biggest roast beef sub ever..
Thank you! I wasn’t sure of the spices.
“Yesterday while there I remembered I needed charcoal.....the price for the name brand looked high so I checked my Walmart app.....sure enough it was a whole FIVE dollars cheaper at Walmart.”
Based on my regular purchases Publix is 20% higher on pretty much everything. People pay for those BOGOs in the long run. And Walmart pickup is the best thing since sliced bread to me. Pro tip: everything they have in Walmart is available for pickup, not just groceries.
Thanks for the info however food is one of those things I need to put my mitts on myself......especially fruits and vegetables.
Judging by the number of Walmart delivery people I see shopping every time I’m in there it must be a good deal.
I’m with you. I don’t want anyone but me picking my fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, breads, etc. I don’t even want them getting my milk or sour cream. The stores around here are really bad for not catching expiration dates. Canned items would be the only things, and even then, would they get what I ask for? How about they don’t see it, or stock is low, so they want to make a substitute. I think shopping like that is a hassle for me. I’d rather go myself. Unless a store changes their layout, I know exactly where to look for the items I want. I can be pretty fast.
In the 90’s it was $1.25 a line. 4 people 3 games, $15. I bowled in 3 different leagues up until I broke my ankle in 1999. It was expensive at all. I spent $50 every bowling night and that included smokes and drinks.
Ahhhh, the good old days when you could smoke and bowl. I quit long ago, but it wouldn’t bother me at all to be around people smoking in the alley, or the bar. Better air cleaners, and it is hardly a thing except for the smell.

I don’t understand why your prices are so high. Here, at Fred Meyer (Kroger subsidiary) 12 packs of major brands usually are $5.99 each if you buy three. $7.99 singly. So, buying three cartons, my Diet Coke Caffeine Free is about 50¢ a can.
“Fish sandwich, small fries, and shamrock shake (a la carte) was $13.99.”
$10.87 here, if shake size is small. Yes, a la carte is pricey. I already had app open so I checked.
Are you getting the St. Patrick’s Day link yet?
The app promotions do vary a whole lot by region and even by franchise, not to mention the regular item prices. Never seen a 50% off offer here. The points / rewards do work out well for me; I get a free Filet of Fish just about every week, a $4.99 value here.
I don’t cook so I starve if the fast food joints close. Loads of emergency / storable food stuffs but no one to prepare it. I CAN handle heating the microwave “tv” dinners and do that occasionally.
Yes, the shamrock gave away that it was a “green” flavor. Sometimes that’s key lime, not always mint. Since I don’t go to FF joints hardly ever, I had no idea what flavor it really was.
Do they have Shepherd’s Pie burgers yet? Maybe a nice corned beef burger. You know, just to be consistent with the festivities next week.
That’s very sad. Very, very sad. If you can read, you can learn to cook. It isn’t that hard.
Venture capitalism has completely captured bowling around here. They don’t want to market to the league bowlers-they are picky about pin setting, don’t buy food, don’t rent shoes, and wear out the lanes.
They want to market to family groups who will buy lots of pizza and arcade credit and parties of adults who will buy lots of booze. Everyone rents the overpriced shoes and they’re happy to get through two games on a two hour rental.
I didn’t say it was hard, I don’t want to.
Got it.
