Although Twitter CEO Elon Musk and former Donald Trump strategist Steve Bannon tend to sit on the same side of the political aisle, the two men don't seem to like each other very much.
Tim Pool, a right-wing podcaster, recently asked Bannon to comment on the CEO of Razer, Min-Liang Tan, encouraging Mr Musk to buy the collapsed Silicon Valley Bank. The tech-focused lender crumbled on Friday, making it the second-largest bank failure in US history.
Mr Musk replied that he was "open to the idea”.
Mr Bannon scoffed at the idea, which Mr Pool called "a bit silly”, and launched into a rant about the Tesla CEO's alleged deference to Beijing.
The former Trump strategist tore into Mr Musk, claiming he has refused to reinstate the Twitter accounts of "true" anti-Chinese government personalities — himself included — since he took over the site.
"Really?" Congressman Matt Gaetz, who was also on the episode, asked, apparently shocked.
"He's owned by the Chinese Communist Party," Mr Bannon said.
He claimed that Mr Musk's "only thing of real value" was Tesla, and that the "Shanghai joint venture" — Tesla's planned Gigafactory 3 plant in Shanghai — is "one hundred per cent controlled" by the Chinese government.
Mr Musk made it clear he had no warm feelings for Mr Bannon either.
"I used to think Bannon was smart & evil, but now I realise I was wrong about the first part," Mr Musk wrote in response.

Tesla is hardly the only company that Musk owns that has value as well.
Musk is often deserving of criticism but these claims from Bannon fall completely flat. Must be something else that has his ire, like Musk's support of DeSantis.

I like Bannon. He’s a fighter like Trump. But, Musk is the only guy out there in the political arena today, other than Trump and DeSantis, that has done some real, positive and calcuable good for the Conservative Cause.
Buying Twitter and firing all the lefties and disclosing all Twitter’s secrets has been a bigger punch in the gut to The Left than Bannon has ever even come close to or ever will.
Musk is getting his operating money from someone with very deep pockets.
Yes, he is. Currently himself, through sales of stock.

When two alpha males approach each other, do not expect the outcome to be at all amicable or even reasonable. The drive for dominance is a categorical imperative. Ethics be damned.
Bannon hasn't trusted Musk for a while and that was before Musk mentioned DeSantis and before Musk bought Twitter.
It's all about the CCP. His theme song for the past few years should be a hint.
But only a small fraction of Musk's factories are in China. And he's working closely with the US government on projects like SpaceX. To claim he's CCP owned rings hollow. Sure, he's partnered with the Chinese, but so has Trump on occasion. He rented a whole floor of Trump Tower to the National Bank of China until just a couple of years ago, when critics finally forced him out of it.

At the time Musk bought Twitter, Bannon has been adamant that Musk is CCP, or CCP friendly.
I do admire Musk for the positive things he’s done, but his involvement in AI scares me.
Bannon’s just making “Buzz” so people watch his show.

The source Yahoo which calls Tim Pool a “right wing podcaster”, that was almost enough to stop reading. Tim Pool while a good guy, is not a right winger.
Bannon is starting to sound a bit stale, all he does is talk.
What else can he do?
He has a talk show that’s what they do.
It’s his stock & trade, just like Rush.
