One of Ukraine's firmest allies in NATO said Russia can continue its war in Ukraine with the same force for the next two years, according to Reuters.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lithuanian intelligence chief Elegijus Paulavicius said that Russia's current resources would allow it to continue this level of warfare.
He added: "How long Russia is be able to wage the war will also depend on the support for Russia's military from states such as Iran and North Korea."
The assessment contrasts with the more optimistic picture given late last year at the Pentagon, which said that early 2023 would probably bring a decline in Russian capability, predicting that it would be forced to rely on degraded weapons and ammunition.
Russia launched a rare large-scale bombardment of exploding drones and high-powered missiles in Ukraine on Thursday, many of which managed to evade Ukraine's defenses.

What, zombie horde attacks by Wagner convicts and hapless mobiki?
As long as Brandon keeps writing checks AT AMERICAN TAXPAYER EXPENSE, his Proxy War with Russia WILL continue.
Prove me wrong.
Ammo isn’t the problem, cannon fodder is the issue. I would guess over a million Russians have fled the country due to mobilization. This isn’t the Soviet Union where the borders were closed.
Biden will keep writing BORROWED MONEY checks to Ukraine. Biden family owes Ukraine for millions received.
I have no doubt Russia can keep fighting. The question is how effective a new Ukraine offensive will be.
Russia is fighting right now, and unless they get a breakthrough they are not achieving much.
Ukraine will soon introduce 60 or 70k fresh troops with Bradleys and other armor.
The idea is for offensives to roll back the Russians.
An experienced retired officer told me he believes the force will be enough to turn the Russians back.
But he also thought a total reconquest by Ukraine would take about 2 years.
Things are about to get interesting, but the final result I wouldn’t guess.
.
When was the last time the Pentagon right, or won a war for that matter? Bunch of woke pieces of excrement.
It’s better to be on the same side as code pink, than Hillary, Chuck, Nancy and Joe.
100 days out of 101.
Russian Soldier sent flying by explosion by the Ukrainian 1st mechanized battalion of the 3rd OSHB
Indeed. And at least 6 million have fled ukraine.
Yeah! And in 2 years the impact of the economic sanctions will kick in big time!
The Ukrainians will use that army to attack Crimea. That will cause the Russian military to collapse in Ukraine. Unless Putin decides to use nuclear weapons. He might do it because our President is Joe Biden.
Where they will attack is a good question.
My impression from news articles is the Biden administration is afraid to let them retake Crimea.
They might also want to attack the flanks of the armies surrounding bachmut, if that situation still presents itself.
I have no idea how effective the new forces will be.
It's mud season so the Ukrainians are not going to be able to do much right now. But they are getting the tanks and NATO is training them so I would guess that they will be ready to rout the Russians by August or so. Zelensky will probably attack Crimea. Joe Biden is not going to be able to stop him.
there is a possibility that Russia will attack from the north (Belarus) into Keiv when the summer Ukraine offensive starts, and then the real Russian army will hold the counter offensive aimed at Crimea. Time will tell.
Biden can stop the war right now by cutting off the supplies unless they sign a treaty. But Zelinski would rat out Biden and CONgress on their money laundering scam since 2014, briefly interrupted by Trump’s presidency, then restarted with the Biden steal.
0% chance that Russia will be able to attack Kyiv from Belarus. They will have to build more tanks and train paratroopers for the attack. Their best chance was a year ago, they almost pulled it off with their shock and awe attack on Kyiv.
