Biden bucks liberals and tells Democrats to get tough on crime

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden’s decision Thursday on a local crime law sends a national message to fellow Democrats about how he believes they should address Republican criticism of the nation's rising crime rates.

Democrats have focused predominantly on police reform since the George Floyd protests reignited a national debate over race and law enforcement three years ago. But rising violent crime rates and growing perceptions of unease in major cities have prompted a chorus of party strategists and officials to call for a tougher approach to counter Republican attacks.

Biden bucks liberals and tells Democrats to get tough on crime

So Democrats complied, and immediately arrested Biden?

Biden makes no decisions. He’s too far in his dementia to know what’s going on, let alone make decisions. One of his handlers made this decision.

Next week the president will ask for an increase in funding for his Safer America Plan,

The Safer America Plan is a proposal by President Biden to combat crime and gun violence with $35 billion in funding over 10 years3,5. The plan would support law enforcement and crime prevention initiatives, such as hiring and training more police officers, clearing court backlogs, investing in community violence intervention programs, and providing mental health and substance use disorder services1,2,4. The plan is part of Biden’s 2023 fiscal year budget proposal and requires congressional approval3. The plan has been praised by some advocates of criminal justice reform, but criticized by others as a political tactic4,5.

Been done how many times? But it sounds good until you think about it.

Getting the cackling imbicile into the Oval Office would be a huge strategic blunder by the Dems.

“There are people that have been, in my view, reckless with their words over the past few years,” she said. “If we have to choose as a nation between social justice and public safety, we’ve all lost. We have to choose both.”

Concluding paragraph.

My view is they are exclusive. 9/11 was sold to us for our safety. (but took away our freedom) There are other choices than these.

So what are our real choices we should be concerned about.

“A house divided will not stand................it will be all one or all the other.”

The internal polls for Joe on crime must be brutal for him to turn on his basic liberal instincts to be soft on crime.

This is simply Pre-election Posturing to improve his positioning among the general voting public in the run up to his re-election campaign. Support or non-opposition to this “tough on crime” bill is specifically designed to boost his performance in the polls.

I think “tough on crime” is heard as “tough on blacks” in many democrat circles. If you live in a blue city, that might sound good, though nothing will come of it.

You can’t get tough on crime when you have been funding the groups that coordinate and support the same criminals that act as your social justice warriors and fraudulent ballot harvesters.

“addressing Republican criticism of the nation’s rising crime rates” is a LOT DIFFERENT than adopting a pro law and order platform. It basically sounds like the normal Democrat MO — “we need to improve our messaging” and “we need to call Republicans bad names.”

This is hilarious. A couple of choice quotes from the article...
Nothing focuses the mind of a White House gearing up for re-election like an incumbent getting only 17% of the vote, as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot did Tuesday in the city’s crime-focused mayoral contest.
That's the most honest statement in the article. It goes further...
The White House is planning a full-throated effort to present him as tough on crime to try to chip away at any Republican advantage on an issue that has put many Democrats on the defensive.
You can hear what's coming from these idiots: "We were NEVER for defunding the police, Soros get-out-of-jail DAs, two-tier justice, letting violent prisoners out of prison, legalizing drugs, legalizing shoplifting, homeless bums everywhere crapping on our streets, or letting our cities deteriorate into sh!t-holes. Nope, we NEVER supported ANY of that! You nasty Republicans are telling lies about us again."

Good luck with that strategy.
