I’d rather that standard time be made permanent.

How about we split it? Half the year it’s standard, and the other half . . .
Oh, wait.

The United Stated tried permanent daylight savings time in 1974-1975, but people didn't like it. In the winter, it was dark too late in the morning. There was morning rush hour traffic and kids were going to school in pitch black darkness.

Exactly. The last time someone tried to make DST all year round, the people revolted. It just doesn't work!
Keep standard time.

I prefer daylight time, but I would be fine with springing forward only 1/2 hour and just leaving it there for good. Something for everybody.

I like permanent standard time here in Arizona. In the summer, you just want the sun to go away and not subject you to another hour of heat and glare. I’m always up before sunrise anyway, summer or winter.
I know it’s a different situation in northern states. That’s why the question of DST should be left to each state. Congress, butt out.

You would like less daylight?

I’d rather that standard time be made permanent. I would too but I will take either as long as they stop this stupid cycle.

We did this once back in the 70s. People were unhappy because it was 8am and still dark.
