First Deputy Chairman of the National Association of the Military-Industrial Complex of Ukraine Ivan Vinnik announced the establishment of production of high-precision missiles "Alder".
He told The War Zone about this on Tuesday during the XV conference "Security Dialogue between the United States and Ukraine", which was held in Washington.
Ivan Vinnik said that now manufacturers are planning to modify the " alder-m "to increase its range to 150 km. He declined to specify when exactly the missiles might be ready and how many would be produced.
"Let's just say, we hope, just in time for a counteroffensive, the probability of which is expected in the south, in the direction of the Sea of Azov," he said. "The trials will take place on the battlefield."
In the meantime, the Alder rocket is operating at the front. A relatively new development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has already been tested in real combat operations against the Russian army.
"Yes, the Alder was used in combat operations," Vinnik said.
High accuracy of rockets, according to Vinnik, is ensured by the use of so — called “gas — dynamic rudders” - dozens of small transverse rocket engines-they help to correct the direction of flight of the rocket by GPS signal.
"Alder-m" is considered a fairly high-precision ammunition, but the manufacturer does not disclose the exact distance of the maximum permissible deviation of the rocket from the target.
According to some information, this distance can be 10-15 meters and this indicator does not depend on the range of the rocket shot.
If the range is increased, the Alder-M will have the same range as the GLSDB precision-guided bomb ordered by the United States, but with a much larger warhead and much higher kinetic energy.
Production of Alder rockets
Militarny wrote that Ukrainian high-precision missiles “Alder” (not to be confused with “alder-m”) began to be used against the invaders in March 2022.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out fifty guided missile launches against military targets of the Russian Federation. Defeats were inflicted by R-624” Alder " missiles, which were manufactured in small quantities by order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Presumably, all the stocks of these missiles were exhausted during the first months of combat operations, because in a short period of time reports of their use disappeared.
However, in recent months, evidence has again begun to emerge that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using high-precision guided missiles "Olkha" against Russian strategic targets in the deep rear.
So, in March 2023, a photo appeared of a rocket part allegedly found near Donetsk, which can be accurately verified as an "alder" due to its characteristic gas-dynamic rudders. The fact that the photo was taken by civilians during the winter season also adds credibility.
In addition, earlier local residents of Belgorod published numerous photos of the wreckage of unknown missiles shot down, which in diameter, body thickness and color resemble parts of missiles from the 300-mm Smerch MLRS or Alder missiles developed on their basis.
Also recently, targets around occupied Mariupol were shelled for several nights. This city is located more than 80 kilometers from the nearest point of the line of contact.
Such a distance is on the verge of the capabilities of American high-precision GMLRS missiles, so we can assume that in this case it was precisely the corrected Alder missiles that were used.
The appearance in 2023 of evidence of the use of Alder missiles after a long pause may indicate the resumption of production of these missiles in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This assumption fits seamlessly into the general trend of increasing the work of the domestic military-industrial complex.
So, in recent months, the Ukroboronprom enterprise reported on the establishment of production of ammunition for artillery systems: 82-mm, 120-mm mortars and 122-mm and 1 52-mm howitzers.
In addition, it became known that the enterprises of the UOP massively supply the troops with upgraded T-72AMT tanks.
Military also reported that the first deliveries of serial Ukrainian self-propelled artillery units "Bogdan" are expected in the coming months.
"We have a very important Ukrainian "Bogdana". I have already signed the first contracts and they [manufacturers] are already promising to make the first deliveries in the coming months, " Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said about the order for new Ukrainian artillery systems.
“ You never posted on FR until your war. You also never post on non-war threads, which leads me to believe that you aren’t an American.”

Yep. Most of them aren’t. Some say they are, but they’re not. They’re Ukrainians. Like these lovely, friendly people in this video clip. The little jackasses shoving the Ukrainian flags in the older woman’s face remind me of some of the Zeepers who post here.

[Where in the world is there a safe place in Ukraine to build a plant to produce that missile?]
As long as the Ukrainians keep the production facilities away from apartment complexes or shopping malls, they are fairly safe from russian missiles.
We also don’t see hordes of people trying to get into Russia, China, India, North Korea, S. Africa, or Iran.
What a fun little club they have there.
GLSDB has a smaller warhead* and is slower speed, but IIRC has a 1 meter accuracy, no? Also there is a version that can hit moving targets.
Still big enough to do a number on a locomotive, I’ll wager.
Are there any salt mines in Western Ukraine?
Well... Russia has all those things except the ports, and Russia would REALLY like to have an all season deep water shipyard for obvious reasons. So, the ports and Crimea are a very big deal to them if they wish to pursue aggressive policies.
As for the other resources, I think this is about resource denial. MOST Russian oil, for example, comes from harsh areas with high production costs. Ukraine before 2014 was on a path to becoming a quite large low cost producer, right next door to the rest of Europe. That would screw with the Russian oil oligarchs and really screw with Pooty’s military buildup. Ditto for gas.
Ok, looks like 12 missiles can be fired from a launcher within 45 seconds. Is control sophisticated enough to put all 12 time on target? That’d be awfully darn hard to stop...
The last I checked, this is still a free country, so I’ll post on whatever I wish thank you very much. It’s obvious that you feel threatened by the truth that I and other Americans who oppose Russian aggression post.
You seem more like a Berkeley girl supporting the spread of the hammer and sickle like you do.
LMAO. Russia is less communist than Biden’s US.
You Bidenistas absolutely CAN NOT tolerate opposing views.
Putin bemoans the breakup of the Soviet Union. Putin dedicates new Stalin statues. Putin murders his political opposition. They change the name of Ukraine’s Liberty Plaza to Lenin Plaza. His troops raise the Hammer and Sickle flag over conquered Ukrainian mill towns and you say they aren’t communists. Why?
How is it that I went to DC protests and did not get arrested? But wave a banner that says “peace” in Moscow and face instant arrest.
I’ve protested against Biden. What have you done Berkeley girl?
You aren’t an American.
Anyone who howls “RUSSIAN TROLL!!” when confronted with an opposing viewpoint is intellectually lazy and indoctrinated.
Be better.
Yes, I am an indeed an American. Also, it was you who accusing me of being a troll, I didn’t accuse you.
