Report: Federal Authorities Hesitant to Charge Honduran Nationals Suspected of Killing a Bald Eagle

Federal authorities have not yet brought criminal charges against two Honduran nationals who allegedly shot and killed a bald eagle in Nebraska to eat it for dinner.

On February 28, Stanton County sheriffs arrested two Honduran nationals found carrying a dead bald eagle after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle outside of the Wood Duck State Wildlife Management.

On Tuesday afternoon at about 4:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle just northwest of the main Wood Duck Recreation Area that is located about three miles southwest of Stanton. The vehicle was located in a field and while having contact with the two males it was determined that they had a dead North American Bald Eagle in their possession. Further investigation revealed that the two had shot and killed the protected national bird in that area and stated they planned on cooking and eating the bird. Nebraska Game and Parks was contacted and took custody of the eagle and the rifle used to kill the eagle.

The two individuals, 20-year-old Ramiro Hernandez-Tziquin and 20-year-old Domingo Zetino-Hernandez, spoke no English and only carried documents from the Honduran consulate as a form of identification, according to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger.

Donald Trump Jr. echoed Vance’s sentiments and argued the suspects are receiving extra protection from President Joe Biden’s federal government because of their immigration status.

“A metaphor of what’s happening to America,” Trump Jr. tweeted. “If an American citizen did this, even by accident, it would be an instant prosecution with severe consequences… but because they’re illegals they’re protected and therefore immune to consequences or accountability.”

So illegal aliens, having guns, hunting illegally, shot a bald Eagle and that’s cool. Disgusting.

I live very near where the Whooping Cranes over winter, if even by accident I somehow harmed one much less kill it I would be looking at at least a few months in Federal prison, plus a fine, plus loss of hunting license for years. Same for Bald Eagles.

China can sell the USA a certified replacement Bald Eagle from one of their shopping mall live-animal displays. But act quickly as time is limited. Roasted Bald Eagle day is coming up.

I understand completely.

I have been HAMMERED on this forum for posting articles that had been previously posted - often the wording is changed or completely different depending on the source.

I do a three-way search to try to prevent this but sometimes it doesn’t work (and I am HAMMERED, once three time in the same thread).

Still, an important story that needs to be discussed b/c of the utter hypocrisy of law enforcement when it comes to citizens vs. non-citizens.

I'd like to post this on your thread as well:

THE LAW:

"Bald eagles were removed from the US' list of endangered and threatened species in 2007 but remain protected under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Lacey Act. Under the MBTA , anyone harming one of the regal birds could face up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine."

IF a person in the USA—other than an American Indian finds an eagle FEATHER-—they cannot pick it up.

It is illegal to even own a FEATHER.

THESE 2 might not get charged???

Ignorance of the law is NEVER a defense.
Prosecute them the same way a citizen would be prosecuted.
Also, revoke whatever papers they have and deport them, persona non grata- black listed against re entry into the USA.

It’s the way liberals think. Killing eagles while white or with petroleum industry items is BAD. Killing while illegal alien or by Windmills is GOOD.

“Killing a bald eagle is a Federal crime...”

Isn’t the possession of a single eagle feather enough to send you to prison (unless you’re an Indian)?

Not only that, but:

If this had been a murder, they would have been described in the story as “Nebraskans.”

Now this is something that would be worthwhile for the Congress to investigate. Why is this a Federal crime for Americans but just another weekday for illegal alien Honduran bass turds in this country illegally and illegally eating our bald eagles. Burritos with feathers? KMA FJB.

California never protected the abalone from foreigners who took even the small ones from their waters. There are hardly any abalone on central coast anymore.
