It’s apparent when you look at cold, hard facts that we’ve gone a bit…overboard…with our warmongering. It appears the sky’s the limit to our largesse, there have been no (and I mean zero) attempts at peacemaking, and now everyone’s talking about WWIII and nuclear annihilation.
When you look at reality, none of it makes sense! Think about this:
The continental US spans about 3,536,000 square miles, while Ukraine covers 230,000 square miles. It’s less than half the size of Alaska, which comes in at 586,000 square miles, and smaller than Texas’s 261,000.
###
Our US military budget for 2021 was $800.67 Billion. Our total aid to Ukraine from January 24, 2022, to January 15, 2023, is $76.8 billion. Yes, you read that right—$76.8 billion total. $46.6 billion was for military purposes. In the year before the war, our aid to Ukraine was $284 million, so we’ve increased aid to that country by a staggering 26,942%. What we’ve given this year dwarfs all other military aid to the rest of the world.
For a little more perspective, we’ve also contributed two-and-a-half times the total aid that all the EU/NATO nations combined gave Ukraine.
Ukraine’s tax revenue from its citizens in 2022 was around $48.7 billion in US dollars. In one year, our citizens have given Ukraine, which is almost 60% more than the Ukraine government collected from its own people—and Zelenskyy assumes more to come.

Perhaps someone can explain to me why we’re spending nearly 10% of the amount budgeted for our own military for a year on a country so far away, and so ultimately without redeeming value to ourselves? Please feel free to point out the value Ukraine gives to our country and its people.

Because “democracy” … and a homosexual midget who wears army fatigues that haven’t been washed in months. Or something like that.
If China invades Russia then I can assure you that I have no interest in helping the Russians.
The article’s author doesn’t get it. We’re not fighting over Ukraine. It just happens to be the place where Russia’s attempting to expand westward.
I believe that but think we’re spending too much of our money over there.
American Thinker is one of the essentials when it comes to opinion. Thanks for posting content.
The question is where does Biden have authority to send this money to Ukraine without Congressional approval?
Hunter’s War
Texas is bigger. The Feds need to send that $77 billion to defend Texas against the foreign invasion that it has been fighting.
“If China invades Russia then I can assure you that I have no interest in helping the Russians.”
How an adult can come up with things like this is beyond me.
The US is providing weapons to the former state of Ukraine on Russia’s border and is providing weapons to Taiwan on China’s border, while warning China about providing weapons to anybody.
At the same time the US is illegally occupying Syria and just bipartisan voted to deny humanitarian aid after an earthquake. “They” don’t hate us for our “freedoms”.
They hate us for behavior like this. All the time. All over the planet.
I oppose US involvement in Syria and Libya. Always have.
Likewise I oppose Russian involvement in Ukraine and if China decides to retake their Siberian territories from a weakened Russia then that’s fine by me.
It’s not really a war. It’s a money laundering operation and coverup for not paying Russia for the Gas the EU stole.
good article, thanks
the US has no interest in the ukes, its proxy war v russia.

Let’s put this insanity in perspective.
Russia’s entire military spending in 2021 hit $66bn. Biden has handed Ukraine nearly TWICE the entire military budget of Russia to destroy Russia to make the dreams of the Neocons come true. He has handed Ukraine, the most corrupt country perhaps in the world, the equivalent of $376 from the pocket of every American including your newborn.
Biden is also paying for ALL expenses of the entire Ukrainian government. Every government salary and all their pensions. All of this is because the Neocons seized control of the White House in the absence of any qualified personnel.
Nearly half of the Ukrainian people have left Ukraine. I seriously doubt that they see this as in their best interest. They have lost their homes and their future as well as employment all because the Neocons instructed that the Minsk Agreement has to be fake and that it was used to bait Putin to come to the rescue of the Donbas after the Neocons started the Ukrainian Civil War.
I think fear of a Russian conquest of the world is unjustified at this time. (That seems to be what some imply, perhaps not you)
NATO is the line to die for as we have solid commitments there. Ukraine is not a member state. I HIGHLY doubt Russia will attack NATO directly even if Ukraine had collapsed and been absorbed as Putin seems to have thought it would last year.
As I have asked two times now in different posts we are not defending Ukraine so much as the people of Ukraine. Correct???
Then WHY did the Biden government only admit 145 refugees from Ukraine in January of this year? 25000 refugees from all nations were admitted in 2022 and 5 Million illegals have came into this country in the last year. He could even have announced some sort of temporary refugee increase. But no, nothing of the sort. He hasn’t even came close to the 100,000 number announced with much fanfare early in the war.
The answer is obvious to me. Biden is using the war and the plight of Ukrainians as a tool, to get an ulterior motive satisfied. What is that ulterior motive? I don’t know. If he really cared about the well being and safety of Ukrainians you would see 50x , 100x maybe even more admitted.

It’s “TO PROTECT DEMOCRACY”, don’t cha know. Just as ESTABLISHMENT OF A D.C. GULAG is to “protect our democracy”.
And, of course, setting up rivers of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS which can “be tapped” is a side benefit.
It’s a fire sale on the United States.
Everything must go. They are giving money away to everyone like it’s worthless.
Because it is.
I’ve been using every penny I earn to buy durable products. It’s now easy to convert the worthless cash into hydroponics gear, food, seeds and equipment to use it all. The decision has never been easier.
“I HIGHLY doubt Russia will attack NATO directly”
That’s believable and a reason why we’re overspending and overprotecting over there.
“Then WHY did the Biden government only admit 145 refugees ...”
Why can’t Europe absorb the refugees fleeing Ukraine? Our ‘absorbing’ of millions of illegals is another subject and possibly the most terrible long-term thing happening to America. America is being slowly buried.
“Biden has handed Ukraine nearly TWICE the entire military budget of Russia to destroy Russia ...”
I’m dubious that we can make a comparison of those budgets. For instance, how does Russia figure the price of a tank and how much do we really know about their financials?
I think western Europe is playing America like a fiddle, getting us to pay the bills over there.
We are not fighting for Ukraine. We are fighting to ensure “well SOB, the prosecutor got fired” will not perish from the earth. Russia is not expanding westward. Russia is trying to keep the very last domino from falling to the corrupt eastward expansion of woke globalism. To end Cold War I the Russians let the Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union expire. To end Cold War I NATO promised “not one inch east of the reunited German border”. That was 12 or so countries EAST of the German border ago. The expansion, the hegemony, has been 100% NATO. To end Cold War II Biden, Blinken, Yellen, Brussels have assured Putin, not one inch east of Moscow. Cold War II ends when the DC warmongers, with the support of their hinterland stooges, blunder us into WWIII.
But, you're totally fine with all of our meddling in Ukraine that setoff a civil war. Never mind, how many ethnic Russians were killed or that backed and helped neo-Nazis come to power. Or that all of our meddling was to put $$$ into the pockets of the Bidens, George Soros and the defense industry.
