Romney slams Buttigieg: ‘He’s not ready for the responsibility he has’

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Thursday said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is “not ready for the responsibility he has” and argued his Cabinet position would be better filled by someone else as Buttigieg comes under fire over the recent toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

“He’s not ready for the responsibility he has. He was a fine mayor, from what I understand, but the position he’s got really would be better served by a person who’s managed a large enterprise, a state, or something of the scale he’s now dealing with,” Romney said, responding to a question from The Huffington Post on “how Pete Buttigieg is doing.”

After dealing with intense scrutiny over widespread air travel delays and Federal Aviation Administration troubles over the holidays, Buttigieg has now taken hits over the administration’s response to the Ohio derailment.

Last month, 38 Norfolk Southern train cars derailed in East Palestine, several of which were carrying the hazardous cancer-causing chemical vinyl chloride. Residents were temporarily evacuated over concerns of a potential explosion as chemicals burned at the site, and worries linger about the toxic substances left behind.

Romney had a 30% approval rating when he left office in Mass.

Romney really was an outstandingly good governor.

Really? I know three Republicans from Massachusetts and they all despise Romney.

That doesn’t change my opinion of him. He was capable and well-intentioned. The exact opposite of Joe Biden. The country would be far better off with him than either Obama or Biden.

Trump made childish and unnecessary personal attacks on Romney, and Romney seems to be harboring a great deal of resentment. Romney paid a high personal price running against Obama, regardless of what you think of him. He is courteous and gentlemanly, but still got in the arena with a thug like Obama. He was not up to task, perhaps, but he was and is a fine man. Why do Republicans always form a circular firing squad?

The three Massachusetts Republicans I know developed their dislike for Romney while he was governor and not after.

Like I said, why do Republicans always form circular firing squads. It’s insane and counter productive.

Romney went out of his way to disparage Trump and work against him in Congress. He begged Trump for his endorsement in 2018, which he inexplicably got, and still turned on him when it mattered most. I don’t care what Pierre Delicto did as governor of Massachusetts. He’s dead to me.

Rinos can be law and order. Even democrats. Think Rudy and my favorite democrat Mayor Daly(1968). Any more Daly’s out there?

Well, there goes Romney’s “lightening strike” quota for life.

Figuratively...

So are Republicans immune to criticism? Are we to sit on our tongues when we know their policies are wrong?

Romney is a lazy ass a-hole. The Senate had to confirm Buttplug, which means Romney had to vote on confirmation. He didn’t do his job. He doesn’t know a damn thing about Buttplug’s disaster of being mayor. South Bend had major increases in crime and turned into a cesspool under Buttplug’s leadership. Romney should resign. Romney isn’t up to his job.

The Buttboy was a fraud to begin with. The South Bend idiot voters had a brain fart and a “most of my best friends are queer” moment when they elected the moron to be their silly “Mayor Pete”. Idiot FJB only chose the buttmeister for his transportation secretary because he was a live Bidenesque style freak show.

To think that a so-called "Catholic University" is mostly responsible for him getting elected Mayor in South Bend.
