I have driven over 1 million miles with PAPER maps-—NO GPS of any kind. Problem is finding paper maps. That's why I kept dozens of paper maps over the past few decades. Other problem are the changes not reflected on the paper maps. I have seen relatives struggle with GPS that takes them to destinations in the wrong towns miles away (oops!). That won't happen with paper maps.
