Unfortunately, they have been empowered due to the COVID lockdown nonsense, the blatent election fraud that goes unchallenged, and the ability to literally "cancel" their political opponents from society.
It's very Orwellian. I don't know how we get it back outside of revolution.

No national border — unrestricted illegal immigration
Willfully jumping into a European war and risking nuclear conflict with Russia for no good reason
The education system is in total collapse and only focused on indoctrination and social engineering
Social control through Government-Business alliance restricting how people live and work. The quiet quitting, the “disappearance” of workers indicate a deep change in our political economy.
Supply chain problems seem intractable
I don’t see how this gets “fixed” without being fully remade. Perhaps the Second Republic of the United States will do better.

True that. Classical liberals were way different. You could have polite and respectful discussions with them. And maybe both sides would learn something new.
That’s all gone now. Awhile back I was talking to an older friend of mine. She’s what I’d call an old-school JFK Democrat. She puts her flag out on holidays and believes in hard work.
I casually mentioned to her that Trump tried to bring industry back to America. To my great surprise, she got angry and shut me down completely. Trump and his gang were evil monsters with no redeeming qualities at all.
This is a really bad sign. She is still my friend. But mainstream media propaganda has ruined her thinking. And there are millions like her. I don’t see how we as a country can come back from this.
