“Telegraphing? Your assumption that open carry is equal to a first punch, is kind of a stretch to tag open carry with that.”
Telegraphing is being a lot of things not necessarily referencing a first punch and who said anything about a first punch I said telegraphing a “next” punch. In other words you are armed openly and what’s the next logical thing that would happen and a scenario?
One of the first steps in the ladder of escalating force is police presence. In other words police presence helps reduce the chance of something happening. That’s telegraphing.
But that’s what police do, they show their presence in hopes that something will be prevented. That’s what they’re paid for.
I’m not paid to do that and I would rather keep it out of sight and out of mind as a measure of self defense.
We also learned in Force Battalion school that if you’re in a bank and it’s going to be robbed and hit hard they’re going to take out the cops first and if you’re brandishing a weapon or have one on your hip you’re going to be taken out as well.
Also if you’re at a crime scene and you’re wearing a gun on your hip and the cops show up ready to rock...you are targeted because you are a threat. LEOs don’t know you and cannot quickly process your association. Additionally, an open carry clutters the responders focus and that fraction of time could contribute to hazardous consequences.
That’s a real life, lessons learned textbook example.
The owner of the establishment is required to makes sure that doesn’t happen. THey are called bouncers.
Shooting one person is one thing, shooting several becomes an unacceptable risk.
The current police with their "cop/civilian" mentality are a problem I admit but that can be trained out of some of them. And the rest should be fired anyway.
Were they bounced or just watched?
