The media is trumpeting this because the new CEO is a black woman. I wonder if donations from ordinary folks have increased or decreased.

I have grown to detest the United Way. When I was in the Navy, they made paycheck donations mandatory. Now, I would tell them to pound sand, but back then, I went along with it.

United Way lost my donations probably 20 years ago.
Used to be mandatory at BellSouth where I worked at the time.
Then due to precipitously dropping donations and employee grumbling, they shifted policy enable you to designate charities.
It was a good deal until they dropped the employer matching dollars so I just cut mine to zero and gave it privately and through the church.

What’s her political party? The ABW (Angry Black Woman) party.
The United Way is dirty, just as the Red Cross is (infiltrated by the Derp State). Stay far away from it.

ABW...
I’ve only found a handful of those who don’t belong to that party. They are actually a breath of fresh air to be around if you can find one.
That is IF...you can find one.

United Way is still a scam. No organization that has the power of a business to directly debit your check is a good thing.

I wonder how much the CEO’s of these non-profit “charity” organizations get paid these days. In 2017, the CEO, Maria Alonso, was getting $509,000/year.

Charity begins at home. Screw these tax deductable woke scams.

“how much the CEO’s of these non-profit “charity” organizations get paid”
Way too much
Top dogs get big money, worker bee “staff” get pennies and they sing praise, “wour volunteers” that do all the work.
As noted, Charity begins at home . . .
Local church, synagogue, mosque or your we ll investigated veterans groups are much more effective.

There are multiple United at entities in Florida, with CEOs and cronies making hundreds of thousands in salary and expenses, while calling themselves Charity workers.
The grift in modern society is endemic.

Any headline that touts “Black” is a scam. It’s always a racist agenda.

I would be interested to hear from anyone else in the military back in the mid-Seventies who might have been strong-armed the way I was.
It sure didn’t seem “localized”...

That is so sad. People like that should be publicly tarred, feathered, and ridden out of society on a rail.
