OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (AP) — A fire that broke out Wednesday at the Y-12 National Security Complex in a building where uranium is processed has been contained, officials said.

The fire at the facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was reported shortly after 9 a.m. in production building 9212, said Steven Wyatt, spokesperson for the National Nuclear Security Administration. The building is a uranium processing site, news outlets reported. Air monitors did not go off, which means there was no release of radioactive material, officials said.

A fire at the US nuclear weapons processing center in Oak Ridge Tennessee is barely reported anywhere in the USA. The government says no radioactivity was released. I wish I could feel confident in government statements, but I do not.

Or, someone forgot to change the batteries...

We’re going to need our nukes to fight Russia, due to the war the Neocons started and the Media is cheerleading for. So it makes sense that they would spike a story that they would have otherwise MASSIVELY covered.

So what caught on fire? A wastepaper basket, oily rags, ...

Of course an idiot press doesn't ask the most simple straightforward question imaginable.

The source of contamination was later found to be a barrel that exploded on February 14 because contractors at Los Alamos National Laboratory packed it with organic cat litter instead of clay cat litter. Other barrels with the same problem were then sealed in larger containers. Anthropologist Vincent Ialenti has examined the political, social, and financial triggers to this organic kitty litter error in detail...

“Air monitors did not go off, which means there was no release of radioactive material, officials said.”

It means :

they should always be monitoring to get calibration,
but it shows they are negligent and simply did not care
OR
it means a plan was made to keep them off, and they still
don’t care.

From CDC to FDA to Pentagon to DOE (and its airport
luggage steals), this Republic is “on the tubes”.

There are so many facilities around Y-12 that also measure radiation as part of their normal course of business. If there was a problem, somebody would have known for sure.

Los Alamos has had numerous problems in the past. Hell, they were prohibited from shipping for months due to several safety issues. One was an incident of an individual that had placed plutonium rods in proximity to each other, and that’s a potential killer. Another was mismarking material that caused it to be shipped on a commercial airliner...another big no-no.

Did an arsonist mistake it for a chicken factory?

I downwind of Oak Ridge. We have high rates of cancer, dementia, diabetes among the people who were here during the 40s, 50s, 60s.

"A fire at the US nuclear weapons processing center..."

WRONG.

No "nuclear weapons" are processed in Oak Ridge.
