ST. LOUIS — City judges asked the Missouri Supreme Court on Thursday to be excluded from deciding whether St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner should be removed from office, arguing they had a conflict of interest.
Presiding Judge Elizabeth Hogan filed the request hours after Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed suit in St. Louis accusing Gardner of negligence in office and asking her to be removed from her post.
Hogan said all judges on the court's advisory committee could be called to testify during the proceedings and therefore couldn't preside over the case, according to the filing.

If the judges don’t feel they can be unbiased, or are frightened, they absolutely should be replaced.
I don't think your characterization that the judges can't be unbiased and/or are frightened is fair. The judges may be called as witnesses. I'd hope you can see why a person can't be both a witness and a judge in the same case.
Is public opinion of even some democrats starting to turn against the “woke” justice system?
To make it ‘worse’ the latest push comes after a black criminal caused a white teenaged cheerleader to lose her legs in a hit-and-run ‘accident’.
Of course she should be thrown out of office, but, it fact will she be?
When there’s a conflict with a conservative as the subject, they never recuse themselves.
She should be thrown out of office and then dragged to the nearest street lamp and strung up by her heels while all those victimized by her racist actions beat her with sticks.
Works for me.
I can’t get onto the Post Dispatch site. (paywall.)
But, here’s another link, to the local NBC affiliate.
The whole thing appears to be a massive, and I almost hate to use the word, systemic, fuster-cluck.
I assume Gardner has at least some documentation to back up her statement. (The statement is also available at the link below.) If so, the judge in charge of the perp’s bail is at least as much to blame as is Gardner. (And in no way does that absolve Gardner, IMO.) If not, Gardner is toast.
Dollars to donuts this is going to get more “interesting”.
And, may I say again, prayers to the young lady so horribly injured, her family and friends, and anyone else this perp has harmed.
If leftist DA Gardner was such a good one, why doesn’t the young girl still have her legs?
She should have been prosecuted and imprisoned for what she did to the McCloskeys and Eric Greitens.
Well, I’ll tell you what, one hole in Gardner’s story is that she’s claiming her office mistakenly thought the earlier robbery victim was dead, he was recorded as such (in fact he was not), and that “death” was the “reason” the Prosecutor’s Office was not ready to go to trial. But, if the victim had died, at least in the eyes of the Prosecutor’s Office, why the Holy Hades was the perp not arrested and charged for murder, which surely puts the bail / bond situation at a much higher level?
Clarification: “in fact he was not dead”
Please recuse us from the resulting riots when the Soros plant is kicked out
Gardner is in deep kimchi right now as a gun felon was running free due to her incompetence. He created a car wreck which destroyed both legs of a high school volleyball player in town for a tourney.
That could be a reason why they weren’t ready to take it to trial *yet* but as you point out there were a whole slew of other actions to be taken which were not.
