To: MadMax, the Grinning Reaper

Well, I’ll tell you what, one hole in Gardner’s story is that she’s claiming her office mistakenly thought the earlier robbery victim was dead, he was recorded as such (in fact he was not), and that “death” was the “reason” the Prosecutor’s Office was not ready to go to trial. But, if the victim had died, at least in the eyes of the Prosecutor’s Office, why the Holy Hades was the perp not arrested and charged for murder, which surely puts the bail / bond situation at a much higher level?

That could be a reason why they weren’t ready to take it to trial *yet* but as you point out there were a whole slew of other actions to be taken which were not.
