Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova: Latvia has lost its sovereignty because of NATO and Washington

"Latvia lost its economic, military and humanitarian sovereignty when it agreed to deploy US and NATO troops on its territory, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"If the Latvian Foreign Ministry appreciates the meaning of freedom, it would not encourage the deployment of foreign military units on its territory," Zakharova was quoted as saying by the RIA Novosti news agency.

—> America has an interest in saving a democratic country

Ukraine isn’t a democracy and isn’t our job to save them
We aren’t even saving Marxist Canada.

—> (2) and America has an interest in weakening a hostile enemy, especially since it’s being done with zero American troops killed

Russia isn’t hostile or a threat to us.

-> (3) other countries are watching, so if Russia wins, it will only encourage other menacing aggressors around the World, creating more problems for America

If something affects us or an interest of ours, we can act.
Until then, Europe should handle it.

Clown, go look at 1931 maps and earlier. Russia has never looked beyond those territories. Go get back on your neocon fantastie bus. Peace sells, just not yours, cause no one is buying. Go fight in the Eukrainian front line with all you neocon friends, you are winning of course.

“NATO is not intended to protect Europe from anyone. It’s designed to establish a permanent U.S. military occupation of Europe.”

And yet there are less U.S. troops in Europe now than there was 30 years ago.

Because Europe still feared Germany and didn’t have the desire to accept the responsibility for that fear. Why do it when Uncle Sucker was ready to do it?

This site has become home for the blind norms.

The reality is that world is actually much different that wha we were taught from our birth to now.

I don’t think Poland can do that for a while.

But, once they get fully loaded up, and Russia badly depleted (current trend lines), about the only way Russia could get far in Poland would be to literally drown the Poles in Russian blood.

...Leaving nukes out of the picture, of course.

Europe can police their own back yard. If they aren't capable, we've wasted untold trillions and years creating a Euroweenie welfare state.

No, and no.

And, it's not even all about Russia (tho' the lean toward Russia increases if one considers Moscow part of Europe.) We KNOW from history what happens with Europe when well armed and left to its own devices. Post WW2 you can add in nukes, at any point had the US packed up and gone home. And if you don't recognize the divisions still in Europe, hidden to the ignorant by the thin veneer of the EU, and relative peace held together not just by trade, but by the glues of NATO and US influence, well... I can't help you. I don't know how to cure blindness.

Waste? Well, since the demise of the USSR, the Euro's haven't really contributed their full / designed share to NATO. But, their contribution is still helpful. And, together with a few other allies, the Western bloc is ~80% of the world's GDP. Europe's contribution there is larger than ours. Getting that block to move together is often difficult. Getting it to move together quickly can be VERY difficult. But, make no mistake, it is enormously economically beneficial (basically to all), and it is the most powerful human force on the planet.

When it comes to NATO, obviously some things need to be addressed. One is to address funding: The 2% of GDP requirement needs to be an absolute minimum requirement for Membership. So long as Russia is a threat, it likely needs to be 3%.

“Therefore any opportunity to join a military alliance with the civilized West was snapped up as soon as it was offered.”

It wasn’t even offered. They applied for it. Only then was it debated, considered and put to existing members for approval.

NATO is akin to the US’s original Minutemen or a neighborhood watch. It is a self-defense organization created in response to mutual sefl defense against belligerants.

Russia invaded Chechnya
Russia invaded Georgia
Russia invaded Crimea
Russia invaded Donetsk
Russia invaded Ukraine

All Putin’s invasions were for territorial conquest.

This is why NATO exists -to protect nations against Russian invasion.

Yes we know the failure of Europe to resolve longstanding/sectarian issues.
The EU, not a democratic institution, has become a tool of the WEF to enslave the continent. It is corrupt.
The Un was envisioned as a forum to resolve these issues and prevent war. It is corrupt.
Through paying for the EU defense in perpetuity, we are enabling the enslavement of the citizens.
We have fostered this EU welfare state on the backs of American dollars and American lives.
If they cannot handle regional issues by now, they are simply perpetual wards of our state.
