*US Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro voiced concern in remarks on Wednesday

*Said China has 340 active warships, compared to about 280 for the US Navy

*Claimed US naval shipyards can't match the output of Chinese ones

The US Secretary of the Navy has raised the alarm that China's naval fleet surpasses America's in number of ships, and is growing faster than the US has current capacity to match.

'It is no secret that the People's Republic of China seeks to upend our dominance on the oceans across the globe,' said Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro in remarks at the National Press Club in Washington DC on Wednesday.

Del Toro said that China's navy has recently added over one hundred combatants to its fleet, calling it 'a naval buildup that is a key component of its increasingly aggressive military posture globally.'

Leaders who believe men are women shouldn’t be in power.

If it's a war of attrition, we lose.

As a moving foxhole attracts the eye, and ships don’t move quickly, given the advance in sattelite and missile technology, and the advance in drone technology, why not scores of cheap single-purpose unmanned subs having sea to sea missile capability? Make navies obsolete. Set up a naval operation like Ellis in Nevada. I realize we would have an advantage only if their purpose was not crewed by woke squids. However, once upon a time that advantage existed at Suitland in Maryland. I wonder if it still exists?

You don’t need radar to track ChiComm “ships,” otherwise known as ChiComm chum. Just follow the popped rivets floating on the water’s surface.

“Are we doing anything about it?”

Why? This is another Chicken Little agenda scare tactic that has no more need than the warning of Russia having more prepared nukes on the ready. It all comes down to how many does it take to accomplish the job. And the overall intent of the powers that be of all the world powers is to scare the citizens into getting behind creating more scare than is already there.

You can only destroy the world one time and there are a number of countries that are already overloaded with their contribution to accomplish that. So who are they scaring more with this if they add more to the crap pile in the yard that’s already there? So are they creating weapons against foreign nations or fear for their own citizens? And they’re all doing it.

China has over a 100 cities of a million or more people. China has 5 of the 10 tallest buildings in the world (all built in the last 10 years). The “ghost cities” are a rounding error in their massive advancement in urbanization.

We have ghost cities too, not because we are building too much, but because we are letting our cities collapse. China is running into its own central planning problems, but don’t discount their ability to build, including for war. Last thing we want to do is get into a war with a country that has 4x the population and 2x the industrial capacity.

Nothing you stated refutes the reports of tofu-dreg construction all over China.

It doesn’t need refuting, because it is irrelevant to the Chinese military threat. It is globalist Soma to distract Americans from our own decline and accept the new world order. It is a distraction to look at handful ghost towns; meanwhile China builds one ship a day while we crank out 10 a year.

The idea of the Chinese Ghost town was popularized in the late aughts, during the boom after China was brought into the WTO. You should read what he has been written more recently about those towns. The reality is much more mixed on those towns.

There’s a reason Chinese military equipment is not in hot demand around the world despite low cost. Tofu-dreg.

Totally, true. Today. But like many thing in China, it starts out shit, they learn, steal, iterate, and eventually they catch up, or catch up enough to be competitive. We don’t ban huawei because it is tofu-dreg, we ban it because it is good, cheap, and they can use it to steal stuff. We are running Chinese made buses in our city, and 99% chance you wrote your last message on a device made largely or entirely in China.
