MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Records show that one 11-year-old Memphian has been arrested nine times in just over two months for charges including carjacking, theft, burglary, and robbery, just to name a few.
Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis addressed City Council Tuesday saying the Memphis Police Department must be able to work with Shelby County Juvenile Court to tackle juvenile crime.
She also told the council that 70% of the kids that are caught stealing vehicles in Memphis are repeat offenders.
“We had a case this week with an 11-year-old,” Chief Davis said. “This is about the fifth or sixth time he’s been in our hands.”
Records obtained from MPD show he’s actually been arrested nine times and has accrued 19 charges so far:

Davis is requesting that the juvenile courts give MPD’s Real-Time Crime Center access to ankle monitors, which they do not have right now.
It’s unclear whether or not this child was wearing an ankle monitor during any of his alleged crimes.
Memphis was once a beautiful and safe Southern city................
The kid has figured out that he “can’t be punished”.
They ought to just throw away the rules and go right ahead and punish the hell out of him. More and more I support corporal punishment. Like Singapore. Cane him so badly that he suffers deep long-lasting psychological trauma such that he will never have “attitude” again and will always fear any action that might possibly get him in trouble ever again. Make him a good citizen.

They have been unleashed. All of them, even children.
No one bothers to consider anymore which is actually worse, canning someone like this and the result is they change their ways or fail to act and see this person either die before they come of age or even kill someone else.
Sometimes life does indeed require harsh choices with harsh penalties.

It’s like with every other Democrat-run city. Death by a thousand cuts. Each year is worse than the year before. But only by a little. No big deal.
Then the next thing you know, the city is stone cold dead. No hope of revival.
Works either way.
There’s no excuse for this child. He’s destined to repeat this behavior the rest of his life. If left on the streets, his life will be short.

They should do something to the parents as well.

Put them on display in a pickle jar to discourage others from crime.
