The Biden administration has the East Palestine, Ohio, toxic train wreck all figured out.
Just blame Trump.
No wonder it hasn't done jack for the battered Ohio community, whose residents had to flee their homes based on toxic fumes from the wreck, and who continue to fear for their safety as officials assure them that all's safe. After all, there's no evidence these guys actually care if they get poisoned.
Why should they? If it happens, they will blame Trump.
Here's how bad it is, according to a splendid editorial from Issues & Insights titled "Amtrak Joe couldn't be bothered to visit a train wreck":
Official word from the White House accuses “congressional Republicans and former Trump administration officials” for selling out “to rail industry lobbyists when they dismantled the Obama-Biden rail safety protections as well as EPA powers to rapidly contain spills.” The administration believes Trump, who beat Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (who is utterly useless) to the site, and GOP lawmakers, owe “East Palestine an apology.”
“Congressional Republicans laid the groundwork for the Trump administration to tear up requirements for more effective train brakes,” Andrew Bates, a deputy White House press secretary, ranted on Wednesday, “and last year most House Republicans wanted to defund our ability to protect drinking water.”
The must-read editorial points out that even the press -- you read that right -- the press, is pointing out what nonsense these claims are, starting with USAToday:
“Jennifer Homendy, who chairs the National Transportation Safety Board, said the brake rule would not have prevented the East Palestine derailment because it was proposed for ‘high-hazard flammable’ trains carrying 20 or more loaded tank cars. The train that derailed did not meet that threshold,” writes USA Today’s Joey Garrison.

No, that's not what's happening. That's "narrative," and from an inattentive administration focused on covering the administration's backside as its priority. They don't actually pay attention to what actually happened. Nor do they care.
Somewhere out there, there are some pros within government who do their jobs, though, and have no stomach for this spin, starting with Homendy.
That's a substantial warning to the Bidenites that the government's willingness to blame Trump for every problem out there has limits.
Those officials are charged with finding out what happened, and with Buttigieg making up a blame-Trump narrative out of thin air, it's pretty obvious that the transportation secretary has absolutely no interest in actually finding out what happened.
They had the House, Senate and Presidency for 2 years. But then again they probably don’t remember that.

If the DOT administrators had any brains, speed limits of trains with hazardous materials on board would be severely restricted in congested and populated areas. What a bunch of clowns.
This assumes they care. The TV media has already parroted their claims. The low information voters who support them will never read anything let along something counter to the narrative.
The NTSB slammed dunked the lies, I have to imagine they will reorganize their leadership due to this honesty.

That is cosmetic, at best. The sort of bandaid approach preferred by Biden’s TWOTs.
The poison cloud went for miles, falling over no where near a town would mean nothing. No, I take that back, it would make ignoring it easier.
Trains hauling such toxic stuff need to have number of cars limited — to minimize damage of just one crash.
No, that does not mean higher cost. Mix toxic loads in with non-toxic cars — spread the risk.
Toxic loads going from point A to B need to have tracks inspected regularly — like if actual human passengers were on board.
You can dump loads of featherbedding-type regulations without impacting safety (yeah, I know that term, my Dad ran a RRoad).

Regardless, restricted speed limits should be mandatory for hazardous transport.
Someone asked me if I thought President Trump would win in 2024 and I replied, based on the voter fraud that is now happening, I don’t think any republican can win. Unless a massive change to oppose the voter fraud occurs in the next 24 months, I don’t have any hope.

Does anyone know the real cause of the derailment? I read that an axle broke. Some thing happened that made the engineer hit the brakes. So I don’t think bad brakes cause the derailment.
And why were tanker trucks not brought in to haul cargo off?
If Trump’s “deregulation” caused the derailment in East Palestine, why didn’t the Biden regime or Democrats, who controlled congress for his first two years, reinstatement the rule Trump got rid of?

Because Buttegege is incompetent and not doing his job. Was too busy taking personal time to actually oversee the disaster aftermath. He perfectly represents the qualifications of people in this administration
Population tends to distribute along rail lines, especially old ones. Such a rule would result in a train constantly accelerating and then braking.
Hardly efficient or safe. This train had a wheel fall off, essentially, so I doubt slower speed would have prevented the resulting derailment. Once the cars left the track and fell over, speed was only factor in how far they slid before coming to rest.
I saw a boxcar fall over at a very slow speed just outside a switch yard, because a wheel failed. There is no substitue for maintenance.
